Pulp Fiction and Tattoos

Who: Skylar and Gwen
When: Tuesday Evening
Where: Skylar's House

Skylar had decided that Gwen needed to come over for a home-style date. Skylar had the best DVD collection on the planet, and figured that they needed to spend the night in with each other. She was finishing off popping the popcorn when she heard the doorbell ring. "Coming!" she shouted, running to the door. After checking through the peephole, she opened the door with a grin. "Hey, Gwen!"

Gwen stood there, as per usual looking just a hint out-of-place. Knowing they had nowhere to go, she wore what she called her 'lazy-ass' outfit: baggy pink pajama bottoms with little Sailor Moon characters all over them, clunky sneakers, and a tight white 'wife-beater' over a black bra. She had a small bag with her that contained 'normal' clothes, just in case 'HeroGwen' was needed at any time. Her long blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and she gave a sweet grin and waved. "Hi... sorry I wasn't here sooner... it's kind of 'avoid all contact day' at Wes' place."

"You look cute," she said, stepping back from the door to let Gwen in. She was trying to follow all of the rules that Gwen had given her, like not verbally inviting anyone in after dark. "What's going on at your house?"

"I dunno... but Wes has that distinct 'I'm on the verge of becoming a battered husband' look, and I figured I'd jet before becoming a Lifetime Movie of The Week." Gwen shrugged, leaning in to kiss Skylar sweetly on the lips. "I missed you, hun."

"I hope that it's not anything too bad," Skylar said, kissing Gwen back. "I've missed you as well. Want to pick out a movie for us?"

"What... I mean, not to sound dumb, but what do you have? I mean, I'm still used to having music on those things, I have NO idea what's even out." She laughed, feeling again fairly out of her league.

It was an honest mistake, but Skylar just occasionally forgot that people didn't always have the same stuff that she had. "Basically anything you want, VHS wise. It's still hard to get some stuff on DVD right now." All of the new movies would come out on it, but it was taking a while to replenish her old collection.

"Ah!" Gwen brightened, doing a cute little hop. "Baby... if you have Pulp Fiction and/or The Crow, my love for you shall grow by previously unheard of bounds."

"I've got both, actually." She even had Pulp Fiction on DVD, pulling it out from one of the shelves and popping it in. "Let me go grab the popcorn and I'll be right back."

"Hell yes." The blonde plopped down dramatically on the couch and stretched out, yelling in after the other girl. "Be prepared. I do a pretty mean Ezekial 25:17."
lena7623 (11:54:55 PM): "I'll bet!" She called back, grabbing the still warm bowl of popcorn and coming back into the living room with the popcorn salt.

"I still cant believe that evil crack-ho you hang with is letting you have an entire evening with me, no interruptions to pester you about practicing." She grinned, knowing she sounded catty, but not caring. Something about Lexi rubbed her the wrong way, although it was probably just Gwen being territorial.

Her face turned serious. "It's not her calling off band practices, but it's Mere." She shook her head. "Poor girl, to fall in love with someone and then have him threaten you with magic like that."

"Mere's a cool chick. I really feel for her, but right now, I gotta worry more about finding out what's going on with Ash." Gwen actually grew visibly sad there, sighing. "He's like a little brother to me. Whatever this is... it's not him."

"That's what she keeps saying, but then she says her other friends claim that it had to be in him all along, and then Lexi tells her to get the hell over it already, and it's just a mess right now."

"And here I am, stuck in the middle. I don't wanna see Mere in pain, but... I promised Patience a long time ago that I'd never let anything happen to her brother." Gwen shook her head and tightened her hand into a fist. "I feel so... lost."

"It sucks to get caught between to friends when they split up." She shook her head. "I'm sure that something will work out, though."

"I love you, ya know." Gwen looked up at Skylar, realizing in that moment JUST how important the girl was to her. "Don't ever think that this is... just some fling to me, or that I use the word love loosely. I love you, SO much, Skylar... I'm talking about strong, painful, insanely intense LOVE."

"I love you, too, Gwen." She set the bowl of popcorn aside so that she could hug her. "I know it's not a fling or anything like that."

"You realize it's so bad now, that I hear my favorite songs, and the first thing I do is imagine how you would sound singing them?" Gwen gave her a comically mad look. "You're turning me into a typical, lovestruck teenage girl, you witch!"

"The only magic I can do is sing," she said with a grin. "Well, there is that thing I can do with my tongue..." The grin turned a little more wicked. "From your reaction, that sounds pretty magical."

"It is... it really is." Gwen laughed, realizing yet again that she'd truly met her match. "So... before we get into the movie and the popcorn and the stuff people usually do in brothels, I wanted to show you something."

"Show me something?" Her curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"

"I had a little bit of cash saved up, for something special, and I couldn't think of anything more special than this." She turned around, her back now facing the other girl. "Lift up the back of my shirt. CAREFULLY. Even with my Weapon X healing thing, it's still tender."

Grinning, she gingerly lifted up the back of Gwen's shirt.

Underneath was an obviously fresh, still slightly raw-looking tattoo in the middle of Gwen's back. It went roughly from between her shoulder blades to slightly more than halfway down her back. It was a medieval sword, with the word SKYLAR written in Gothic lettering down the blade.

"Oh my god," Skylar said in awe. She wanted to touch it, but was afraid of hurting Gwen. "It's beautiful."

Gwen grinned sweetly, thrilled that the other girl liked it. She'd literally spent almost all the money she had saved over the last three years on it. She only saved enough for one special thing, a gift for the future. "It's... well, the sword represents me, cuz I'm obsessed with Arthurian stuff. It's meant to symbolize that you'll always be a part of me. I'm so glad you like it... I kinda went crazy and let's just say it's a good thing Wes and Laili buy food and clothing for me."

"I think that it's absolutely gorgeous, Gwen." After taking another look at it, she slowly lowered Gwen's shirt again. "I can't believe you did something like that for me."

"I'm in this for keeps, Sky." Gwen turned back around, and stroked Skylar's hair lovingly. "I wanna be together when we're 80, have osteoporosis, and can't remember who the fuck we are." Ok, for Gwen? That was actually sweet.

"Then maybe I should get your name tattooed on myself, so that we both have reminders of each other's names," Skylar said with a grin.

"You'd look completely hot with a Tramp Stamp, girl." Gwen laughed, and hugged her lover. "Now... about watching Pulp Fiction..."
