Who: Michael, Kit
Where: Sunset Club
When: Thursday night
Kit sauntered in to the Sunset, looking for his protege.
Michael wasn't too hard to find -- at the moment, he was doing homework at his corner table.
"Hey kiddo," Kit said, heading on over. He settled into the chair across from Michael. "What's shaking?"
"Homework," Michael said. "Fun stuff like that."
"Joy-oh-Joy," Kit said, grinning. "I've got a lot of extra work stuff myself these days- I'm going to be teaching magic classes at the Academy. I expect to see you there..."
"Yeah, I'll be there," Michael nodded. "Not like I could get out of it if I wanted to, right?"
"Right, so you might as well. Besides, this way I'll have at least one student I don't hate," Kit said.
"Yeah, yeah. So I'll be there," Michael nodded.
"Oh - you talked to a kid named Ash Kowalski lately?" Kit asked.
"No, not lately... why?" Michael inquired.
"He's getting all power-crazed and evil," Kit said. "So we're going to have to do something about that."
"How so?" Michael asked.
Kit shrugged. "He made some sort of 'grar-gonna-kill-you-all' threats, so now he's on the watch list. Don't know exactly what they're going to do- this is a sensitive matter, since he's the mayor's ward," Kit said. "And we're not sure if the mayor even knows about his magic issues."
"So in short, he's being a whiny little bitch?" Michael commented. "Now I'm kinda glad I didn't go hang out with him when he was babbling about magic that one time."
"Yes, basically. So if he comes looking for you, feel free to kick his ass," Kit said.
"Alright, good to know," Michael said, frowning.
"So just be careful, okay?" Kit said.
"Always," Michael nodded. "This is the gateway to hell, right?"
"Yeah-- about that," Kit said.
"Have you noticed.. erm, anything unusual at the club lately?"
"Depends. Define 'anything unusual'," Michael replied.
"Oh, you know..." Kit gave a vague gesture. "Just some things with the doors."
"Like accidentally opening to alternate dimensions inhabited by psychotically pissed-off humanoids?" Michael inquired.
"Like that," Kit said.
"That I noticed, yeah," Michael nodded. "I'm still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong."
"Well... there may have been a small incident over the summer, while you were out.. which may or may not have involved elves and the casting of certain spells," Kit said. "Y'know, just saying."
"Mm. And theoretically, what would this incident be responsible for, if it had happened?" Michael inquired politely.
"Well, in the due course of banashing these elven assassins from the domain, certain spells cast may have interacted poorly with the wards on the back hall, and caused some sort of temporal disruption..." Kit said
"I see." Michael pondered. "And this would explain why the back hall has quite a few more halls than it used to."
"Yes, that would explain it," Kit said. "Think of it as an interesting adventure.. because I have no idea how to fix it."
"Heh." Michael shook his head. "Well, as long as it doesn't suddenly start pouring out demons... we -are- right nearby another famous interdimensional hole... a mouth of hell, if you will..."
"Yeah- it seems to be pretty contained to the back hall," Kit said. "Just- be careful with the green doors."
"Okay... heh. I will." Michael chuckled a bit.
