The New Kid in Town

What: Kayla's a new potential in town, trying to get her bearings.
Kayla had just learned about her potential over the summer, and received the letter inviting her to special training in Sunnydale. Though her folks were from the mid-West, and the move to California had been a daunting prospect - they'd agreed in order to give the daughter the instruction she needed to fill her special destiny. Her brothers and sister had been less than thrilled, not wanting to start all over again at new schools.
Kayla too was a little bit unhappy about that. They'd had to sell the farm, and their horses and everything. And moving to a new place full of new people was kinda scary. But she was determined to make the best of it.
When she got to school, she put on a big smile and tried not to look out of place as she headed down the hallway to look for her locker.
