I do love my city. A friend called at 6:40 last night about a 7:30 pm event downtown with
Gale Anne Hurd who is an Executive Producer whose latest project is The Walking Dead.
I scrambled and made it to the Toronto International Film Festival LightBox just as introductions were being done. They showed the midseason cliff hanger episode AND some scenes from the next episode (No spoilers here).
I'm going to write up the interview & I'll link it here when I'm done.
In other fannish thoughts, I just finished the 10 trades of the Y: The Last Man comic series. The premises is one day all the males in the world (human, & animals) die almost instantaneously. It spans a period of 5 years (plus epilogue issue) and, given the world, is almost all female characters except for Yorrick and his monkey.
It's written by Brian K. Vaughan & Pia Guerra and has competing factions, the International Space Station, Lost Love, Mystic influences, genetic manipulations, ninjas, secret societies and the aforementioned monkey. The last trade also has a very Jossian moment where for a few pages I was completely "Oh Noes". Enjoyed the exploration of how killing all the men did not lead to instant paradise.
Well that's enough babbling for now!
