I wander over to get something else to drink from the bar, and notice another girl who looks familiar from school. Alright, let's say I heard some rumors about her that weren't all that nice, but I don't exactly give much credence to the source--bunch of losers.

She seems a little lost in thought, but why stop he sudden social streak now? "Hey," I say to her, while waiting for my coke.

I'd been moping at the bar for a good while now, still waiting for Razor and the guys to come back on stage. A guy comes up to me and decides to be friendly. Guess the whole point in coming here besides seeing the band was to make a decent amount of friends, cuz I could always use those. I try to perk up a little as I look to him. "Hey."

She's cute, seems kind of quiet, and seems to be watching the stage. "They supposed to be back soon?" I ask, nodding toward the idle equipment. "And would you like something to drink? Assuming you're not dating someone in the band who's gonna kick my ass if I buy you a soda."

Hmph. I wish. I try not to instantly pout at that, and it only half works. Okay, the guy's nice, the least I could do is pay attention to him. I turn my head to focus on his eyes. I smile a little as I say, "Something to drink would be nice. No band member boyfriends here. I'm Jenny."

"Tim. And I just wondered 'cause you looked like you were willing them to come back onstage." Of course, if she were dating one of them she'd probably be with them on break. Maybe she's just bored. "They sound pretty good--never heard of them before tonight," I say, before turning to order another coke for her.

I can't help but blush at his first comment, I guess I was. Too bad I was caught. "They're new, the singer's a little...interesting, but I know the bassist. He's cool." The bartender serves me the coke and I bring it to my lips, taking a sip from the straw.

"Yeah, the singer seems a little flakey," I agree. I hand her the soda. "The bass player seems popular--I was talking to a girl earlier who I think is dating him. At least, going by the looks they exchanged."

I take a sip of my coke. "So, I think I've seen you around Sunnydale High--what year are you?" Actually I may have seen the tail end of a bitchfest between her and a teacher, no clue what it was about. I don't judge these things, most of the teachers there are morons.

Jordy's girlfriend. That's right, he has one. Get him out of your head, Jen. I blink before looking back up at Tim. "I'll be a junior." Suddenly he looks a little familiar, and a place where I've seen him comes to mind. "Did you get stuck with creative writing last year too?"

"Naw, but I had American Histroy in the room next door to that one--maybe we saw each other coming out of class. Guess that's where I remembered you from," I say, grinning. Now I'm distinctly remembering a couple of incidences in the Creative Writing room--damn, the girl was fiesty.

"Oh, yeah. That's probably it." I tell him, looking down at my soda again before taking another drink from it. If he'd been in the next room he could've of easily heard one of my bitch-a-thons with Taffy. I can be pretty loud when I like. I find myself looking embaressed as I keep staring at my Coke.

Okay, I definitely said something wrong. "Well, for what it's worth I wondered where the cute girl came from in the middle of the year," I say, hoping a change of subject will help. "You transferred in from somewhere, didn't you?"

Alright, he's nice. And sweet. And it makes me grin, finally raising my head back up to turn my attention back towards him. "Yep, I came here a few months after my brother did...the music teacher? We're from L.A."

I think for a minute. "O-oh, the one that had the entourage of groupies, McEvans?" I smirk, thinking of the girls who'd made it their favorite hobby to stake out his room between classes. "Big city girl, huh? This must be a real switch for you."

I smirk when he mentions Jordan's groupies. There were times when I felt like giving them a piece of my mind, but it was also hilarious to see my brother having to hide and lock himself in his classroom. "I like Sunnydale. It's quieter, I can get around easier. Girl with no car here and all."

"Yeah...although I'd get a ride after dark if I were you. It's not all that safe, in spite of being small. If you need one tonight, I'd be happy to drop you off." She hasn't been here that long, and I wouldn't want her to become one of those unexplained disappearances that are rampant around here.

Looks like some people in this town aren't as clueless as others. "A ride would be nice, thanks Tim." I say, swiveling back and forth on the barstool a little. Suddenly a thought comes to mind. "So why not Timmy? Too childish for you?" I ask with a little grin.
