recitals, operas, and mothers... oh my!

If I had to describe La Boheme in one word it would be: life-changing. Breathtaking. Tear-evoking. Magical. Everything-I-want-to-be-when-grow-up. Okay, so that's not one word. Whatever. I still felt that way. I want to BE that!

My mom really enjoyed it. She said she understands why I want to do this for a living. It's intoxicating. She did not enjoy the drive home, though. Sad. Went to bed late. Got up early.

Work today wasn't bad- one of my clients was in a weird mood. It was entertaining. The other two went to a car wash. I mopped the ENTIRE house. Felt productive. I feel bad that I have to leave. I love that job.

Mom and I went to Dre's recital. She was wonderful. I love how her voice has grown- it is so rich and round and full. Went to Laura's recital. Holy cow! She was fabulous. I am always impressed by her perfect blend of technical musicianship and real human emotion. So good girl! Can't wait to hear you starring in Carmen!

Went to dinner with mom, Dustin, Dre, and her family. It was fun. Had a good dinner. Went back to my house, loaded up her car with boxes that I need moved back to S-W. She was going to leave in the morning, but decided she wanted to sleep in her own bed, so she left at like 8:30. Picked Jed up from work, changed clothes/showered, went out to celebrate various performances. Saw the cast of "The Importance of Being Earnest" out. They were having fun- excited for the last show tomorrow. Had a couple of yummy drinks, then had a hot dog (FOR BRUCE: UH OH HOT DOG!) at the Hot Diggity Dog cart, then came home.

I need to go to bed. I am zonked (is that even a word? whatever) and need some sleep before work and the most *amazing* choir concert ever tomorrow!

*note*: that was sarcastic in case you were wondering. lol.
