weekend update.
The Red Sox game was cancelled "due to inclement weather" on Friday night. By "inclement" they mean crazy lightning and thunder and pouring rain I'm sure. Travis left work early to drive up here (in the rain and traffic). He met me at Sunset Cantina, order our drinks and food and it was all on the table when I got there around 6:15pm. The game was still on at that point, but soon after was announced that there was a Rain Delay. There's were a bunch of other Sox goers at the restaurant as well and we were all watching outside, the tv and calling the Red Sox Nation phone line for updates. We just kept drinking and at 9pm we decided to head back home rather than to the park, but the time I got home the game had been cancelled and reschedule for September 13th. So hopefully we can still use Jess' dad's work tickets to go to the game in September. We'll see.
The rest of my weekend was very low-key. I watched as much of the Olympics as I could. I just love watching the US break all these records and Michael Phelps is just unbelieveable!!!! And Dara Torres! At 41 to win a silver medal is amazing. She only lost by 1/100th of a second too! Insane.
I helped my parents on Saturday and Sunday. Missed the entire weekend basically. All I wanted to do was go to the beach, but my dad had us helping him out for his trip to Carlisle, PA all day, both days. Hopefully next weekend will be more of a weekend to hang out, relax and sleep in!
The good news is that my car is apparently completely ok. I had it looked at on Saturday by my dad and Bobby (practicly family) and everything is fine. They don't know why it wouldn't start for me last week. I hadn't gone near my car all last week for fear that it would start and then not start again and I'd be stranded, but it started right up this Saturday when we headed to my parents and I had no problems with it all weekend. So strange!!! But I'm glad to know that I don't have to fix anything!
Things are definite that I'm moving in with Ang. I gave my notice on my apartment via email, but haven't heard from my landlords. I'm going to start picking up boxes and the such and start going through things in the next couple of weeks. I have so much stuff to just get rid of! It's amazing what accumulates when you live in one place for over 4 years!!!! Amazing.
