RP thread [Alternate...ish!Hijikata]

Souji rings the doorbell with his free hand. The other one is loaded down with a shopping bag filled with food. Someone apparently wants to impress someone else, possibly to keep proving that he can be like an adult, and has decided that a good way to go about that is to cook dinner.

Hijikata huffs and opens the door groggily. Someone has a hangover~

Someone is also being hugged by a person much, much cheerier than him. "Hello, Hijikata!" He comes inside and waggles a finger at the man. "You shouldn't drink so much if it'll hurt you like this."

"Nghbrml," he waves vaguely and quietly closes the door, then collapses down on the couch face-first.

Souji giggles. "You're such a bad example!" He goes to the kitchen and drops off his shopping, and returns with a glass of water. "Now be a good man and wait here whilst I make you yummy food."

Yeah, alright. No trouble there. He knocks back the glass of water, then winces and goes right back to sleep. He's still fully clothed, but who cares.

Souji pecks him on the cheek and returns to the kitchen. A while later, he returns, the smell of delicious food wafting in behind him. He shakes Hijikata gently. "It's eating time."

He groans and flops over, then pulls Souji down on top of him and cuddles him.

Souji squeaks with surprise but promptly cuddles him back. He kisses him full on the lips.

He kisses him back and threads a hand through his hair. Yeah, he doesn't want to get up, does it show?

It does indeed. Ordinarily Souji would be all for playing about on top of Hijikata, but he doesn't want the food he's been slaving over to grow cold. He sits up. "Come on, I've laid everything out for you. I'll even feed you if you really need it... You big baby."

He growls and snaps at him with his teeth, then pushes Souji off him and stands up groggily. "You should be glad I'm not gagging at the mere smell of food." That being said, he sits down at the table and looks starved.

Souji sticks his bottom lip out, slightly annoyed by the lack of appreciation his effort is receiving. "So what was my alcoholic businessman doing last night?" He sits and starts eating his curry. "Other than the obvious."

He starts eating, looking less hungover with every bite he takes. "This is good," he says, then starts stuffing his face again. When he feels he can stop eating for a minute, he sighs. "I was just..drinking. At home."

Souji's perkiness rises a notch with every sign of improvement Hijikata makes, then his words blast it away. "Why? You could have called me and I'd have at least kept you company."

He looks down at his food as he eats, seemingly casual.

"..yesterday was..Piotr's..he died 3 years ago, yesterday." He starts eating again, but definitely with less taste than before.

Souji looks over at Hijikata, pained by seeing him so hurt. He slides off his chair and crouches next to Hijikata. He wraps an arm around his shoulders. "I'm sorry."
