Hmm...tricky dilemma:hair or mind. Out of the two, and having known what my sister-in-law went through when she lost her hair during chemotherapy, I think I'd still opt for maintaining a healthy state of mind. My argument? Well, you can always wear headwear, fancy hairbands, claim something more sympathetic if the truth doesn't work but depression is a whole different ball game. Yes, I've lived with people snickering at me behind my back because of what I look like; so I know exactly how that feels. But I would still choose it over depression, because I was sure who I was and had a sense of control over my body (even though I could not magically make myself beautiful or acceptable to most people). The thing is, you can claim all sorts of things regarding your hair, from being a feminist rebel against women's identity being linked to their hair, to it being like that as a fashion statement. It's amazing what you can achieve when you have a friendly hairdresser (as my late friend did when something similar happened to her). It's a hard decision for you, love; but I know you will make the right one for you. *hugs*
