I'm glad you've been feeling inspired again! Just reading this entry makes me want to get out there and do more - like taking photos, using my film cameras more and blogging again. I started following your blog, btw. I'm your first follower, yay! This is my Blogspot. I think I'm going to make it more of a beauty blog, but I'll definitely post other things on there too. I totally understand about wanting to be popular on the Internet. :p I mean, when you have followers, it gives you more motivation to keep up at it because you know people are reading/looking at what you do. I think that's why I've always come back to LJ - I'll always get a response and I'm really close to the people on here.
Those poached pears look amazing! I looove maple syrup, so I totally have to try and make this one day! What did you do? Maple syrup is so good on ice cream too. Sugar overload, but worth the indulgence every now and then. :p Also, that salad? YUM. Another thing I have to try! My parents are always pestering me about cooking, so I think I may give that a shot one day. :)
You look so qt in that hockey jersey!
ETA: Blogspot's formatting settings have changed since I last used it too. You have to go into Design and then Template Designer to customise your blog. I couldn't figure it out for ages and had to Google it, but only because the Template Designer didn't load in Firefox for me, so I'm having to use Safari when I want to customise my blog! Annoying. Anyway, here's hoping we can both keep up at our blogs! I feel like LiveJournal is more for everyday thoughts, whereas Blogspot is more of a creative outlet.
I hope you do get inspired! I've kind of...died down a bit, lmao. But, maybe it's because I've been at uni. Hopefully this weekend I'll get back onto it. And you're totally right about the followers - it does give you motivation. You're my only follower on my blog! I thinnnnk a few people watch it, I've had comments before (good lord!) but yeah. I think if more people watched it, I'd be a lot more active. I just don't know how to put myself out there! I think I need to stop being lazy and start commenting on the billion blogs I read :p About the customisation, I go into the template thing and it says customisation not available on this template! It never used to say that! I think I might try in Safari. I love Firefox, but shit like this always comes up and it doesn't work in Firefox. It's ridic.
Oh the poached pears are easy! I used mostly maple sugar for it, but maple syrup is exactly the same I guess. I put the pears, cut in half, face down in the frying pan, in a shit load of butter haha, and fried them for a bit. Then I put a little water in, like...not even half a cm. And covered the fry pan with a lid. On medium heat? So, cooked them for a little while, and then sprinkled a bit of sugar on top (you can use brown sugar or maple syrup I guess!) and heaps into the water, and left the lid off. The liquid should caramelise with the sugar. And at one point I turned the pears over. And when they're cooked I put them on the plate and drizzled maple syrup over the top :) it's so not good for you haha, but i never eat dessert so i guess once every so often is ok!
Haha, it's so easy to say you feel inspired, but it never lasts long, does it? Motivation can appear out of nowhere and disappear just as easily, it sucks! I really want to put myself out there with my blog, but I've got no idea how to go about it either. I'm definitely going to start commenting on the blogs I read and I'll probably promote it on Tumblr too.
Yeah, I had to completely change my blog style and everything! It was a nuisance, but pretty easy to fix up and customise. I'm glad I didn't have to resort to editing the HTML because that's always such a bitch! The reason why I've had the same LJ layout for like, three years. :p I love Firefox too, I don't think I could ever switch browsers! Safari isn't bad by any means, I'm just attached to Firefox. :p
Oh, that's so easy! A cooking noob like me could totally do that. :p I don't eat dessert often either even though I have sweet tooth. It looks so yum! At least it's got fruit in it, right?! LOL.
I had to change my blog style all by HTML, and it was SO difficult haha. I think my template must be old and out of date or something, cause it wont let me change anything in the settings. I tried in Safari too. Anyway, I figured out the HTML in the end so that's all that matters lol.
Haha oh yeah, you tell yourself that ;) plenty of nutrients in caramalised pears...
Yeah, I changed my template because I didn't want to have to deal with HTML, lol. Too frustrating and time consuming! I will deal with that when I eventually make my own website. You do feel really awesome and accomplished when you figure it out though!
