You guys, I am SO sorry about my last entry. What a whiny bitch! The comments you all left though honestly made me feel so much better, you lovely things you. Sometimes I don't know how I'd cope without LJ and like minded people!
I hope that, once I finish uni, I don't get another one of these freak outs where I think life sucks haha. It's so draining. I am so lucky sometimes, I forget this. I'm a 20yr old growing up in a world we take for granted, big time. I have more things available to me now than my parents ever had. I wish I'd remember this more, instead of whinging about not having a car or social life or money.
Anywhoozle. Exciting story to probably...2 of you. probs not even that exciting. But. Today I got a new camera.
Dad and I went to a camera market in this little community centre, chockers full of old men selling old cameras. I was on the lookout for a Mamiya RB67 film back because we have a Mamiya at home, but the back's faulty. So, we found this guy who had this massive table, and it was full of everything. Plenty of Mamiya's and Mamiya accessories. And I spotted this little Bronica ETRS, which I've been scouting out on Ebay recently. See, the Mamiya is a fantastic camera, but it's a studio camera. It weighs a freakin ton and is a gigantic pain in my ass. But it's a beautiful medium format camera. Anyway, this little Bronica is a beauty. It's lightweight, about the same as a DSLR. And it was $395 including a 75mm lens (which is about equivalent to a 50mm standard on a 35mm camera?). Which is cheaper than Ebay had it. And it was in SUCH good condition, not a single scratch! And there was a 50mm (wide angle) lens for $150, which we got for $120. I love wide angle cause I shoot mostly landscapes.
But yeah, my Dad (who has always been in the camera/photo business and knows everything hahaha) really liked it, and I really liked it, so we got it! It's so amazing, I love it. I've always wanted a light weight medium format camera for taking travelling. This means I should hopefully start using film more!
Soooo yeah. That is SO exciting for me! No more bulky Mamiya!
And yeah, also good weekend because Dad came home last night, which I wasn't expecting. So I a) got groceries and b) got a lift home hahaha. And we of course went to sushi for dinner, yummm. No stale toast for me!
So it's been a pretty miserable weekend weather wise, so I feel like watching a movie tonight on the couch. I should technically be doing uni work but ehhh.
What a handsome son of a mother!
Remember how I said I got a Canon AE-1 Program the other week? I just put a roll of film through it to see how it turned out. Everything turned out amazing, so happy! I love this camera. So do most people on flickr hahaha.
I just went round the house taking boring photos so nothing interesting:
haha most were blurry or dark cause it was like, late afternoon and there was no light. Oh well.
Can't wait to put a roll through the Bronica!

And I'm working tomorrow, Tues, Fri and Sat. Not fun.
