Ok, I am really quite pissed off now.
Bit of a backstory: I own a pair of David Yurman earrings from their "Cable Kids" collection. That means that the earrings (and the stone) are smaller than the "adult" version, and significantly cheaper (kids' cookie earrings go for $200, adult cookie earrings - $475). Keep in mind, this being David Yurman, the kids earrings are still reasonably sized, not some tiny pinprick studs. They are available for sale at Neiman Marcus, other DY dealers, etc.
I am currently shopping around for a pair of said earrings with a different center stone (i own peridot, looking for amethyst). Considering that I don't want to spend a full $200, I turn to eBay.
And what do I discover? A bunch of sellers trying to pass off the KIDS cookie earrings as the adult ones, selling them for $250+. "$475 retail", claims one person. "A great bargain", says another. Now, considering I OWN the goddamn things, I know pretty well what they look like and how much they ACTUALLY go for. Confused, I message the people, saying that the actual retail price is $200, and the earrings are much smaller than the adult version.
And I get these gems back:
"I have sold the cookie collection for the kids David Yurman line when I worked in Bloomingdale's New York and these are NOT from the kids line. Those are teeny tiny. These are for adult ladies."
and another...
"I am not sure I understand the question. These are not children's earrings. If you are interested in making a reasonable offer, please let me know."
Ok now. I AM WEARING THE FUCKING EARRINGS AS WE SPEAK. I think I know what they look like. I think I know how much they cost, considering I OWN THEM. She posted an image of the silver earring backing and the ratio of the earring to the backing is IDENTICAL to what I own. WHICH IS KIDS EARRINGS. which are not "teeny tiny" because they feel goddamn heavy on my earlobes. These people are straight up lying to my fucking face, figuratively speaking. I sent them links to the Neiman Marcus website, pointing out the OBVIOUS differences in size and price, and nothing. They are simply trying to pass them off as the regular cookie earrings to people who don't know any better. It's fucking ridiculous. $320 is not a "good deal" for a $200 pair of earrings.
SEETHING. seriously.
