Man, it's been raining a lot here. This is the second time I've lived in San Diego and I do not remembering it ever being this consistently rainy before. Global Warming? A fluke year? I don't know, but isn't SoCal known for not raining, there's even a song about it "seems it never rains in Southern California".
To be fair, the second half of the chorus is "But girl don't they warn ya, It pours, man it pours"
I think it's all the rain that has me in my hermit-loves-to-read-books mode. Seriously, getting out of the house seems like such an incredible feat. Today, for instance, I cancelled my dentist appointment. No shocker there really. I'm notorious for canceling and rescheduling doctor's appointments at least a half a dozen times. Small anxiety issue of mine, which, oddly enough, I never even considered an "issue" of anxiety until I just typed it out.
Anyway, I've read a handful of books lately and the one I just finished,
The Center Cannot Hold: My Journey through Madness, left me feeling more than a bit edgy. You see, the book is a memoir about schizophrenia and psychosis. To be honest, in the beginning, I didn't think what the author was describing was all that crazy. I kept putting the book down wondering "what does that say about me? Am I crazy?" Luckily, I was unable to relate in any way when she started to really describe the mental illness. Nevertheless, it was an excellent book, so well written and insightful, if not a little unsettling.

A few days ago I was looking through some of the pictures that I took during my short time in Omaha. I found a few taken last June when Curt's dad and his friend came to visit us for the College World Series. There's not a whole lot going on in Omaha as far as attractions go, but I wanted to give them a picture to remember the trip by, so I took them here:::
That's right. I took them to get their picture taken in a corn field.
We also did more conventional stuff, like the capitol building in Lincoln:::
Funny though, I think they had a better time in the corn fields.
Have a great weekend!
