“Why are you staring at me?” Mike asked, shifting uncomfortably under Eric’s distant gaze.

They were sitting on Mike’s bed, watching a badly dubbed martial arts film that Mike put on. Eric blinked and then shrugged. Mike blushed, and in the light from the television screen Eric fell in love with him all over again.

There were so many things about Mike that Eric loved, and the color that he turned when he blushed was one of them. It was the perfect shade of pink against his pale skin.

“You’re cute when you blush,” Eric murmured, grinning as he leaned towards Mike to kiss him. Mike blushed deeper and leaned his back against the wall. Eric’s grin widened as he crawled on top of Mike like a cat and kissed him tenderly on the lips.

Mike smiled and put his hands around Eric’s face as he kissed back. He still had a slight blush on his face, especially because he wasn’t home alone and his father could walk in on them any minute. But Mike didn’t want to stop the kiss, even if he hadn’t told his dad that Eric was his boyfriend. His mom already knew and Mike begged her to keep it secret, and Mike knew he could trust her.

Eric wrapped an arm around Mike’s waist and deepened the kiss. Mike moaned softly when Eric’s other hand snaked up Mike’s shirt, though he knew it wouldn’t go much farther than that. But, honestly, they didn’t care.

They hadn’t said ‘I love you’ to each other yet, but they didn’t need to. They knew how the other felt, and they felt exactly the same. They were just three words used too often to describe emotions that can’t be described in three words.
