And the beat goes on...

This week has been crazy fun busy. Any hopes I had of being a good student are spiraling out of control, which might not be good, but it is fun in the meantime.

So, highlights?

Esther joined us for Koinania to introduce herself as our hall mom! I am so excited as that woman is amazing and crazy and the exact person who I think can actually make an impact on the hall by being our "mom" for the year. I am definitely looking forward to taking everyone to her apartment for Indian food and watching Bride and Prejudice (which is absolutely HILARIOUS if you haven't seen it!)

Fall Variety show on Friday was super fun, even if it was 8billion degrees in the theater. There are so many amazingly funny, talented people on this campus. And Matt Olson and Charis Miller both sang songs that were partly in Spanish which made me really happy.

So anyway, after the show, a mix of people from 2C and 3C all went to Cheddars which is AMAZING, though it was actually initiated because Katie and I had to do our social breeching project for sociology (breaking social norms) We had this brilliant idea to get a group of all 14 of us and sit a one big table, then only order waters and a side salad to split between all of us. Instead, we ended up being split up into booths, so the five of us came up with something else. I asked the waitress what types of soup they had and when she told us, we began debating between us what kind we wanted. We decided on potatoe soup (which was SO GOOD!) and I ordered one cup (not even a bowl, just a cup) and asked for extra spoons for everyone else. The look on her face as she wrote it down was priceless! :) We ended up telling her after we ate what we were doing and got into a long conversation with her which was really cool. Her parents were Asbury grads though she considered herself a little too rebelous for Asbury. As she put it, "don't you ever just get the urge to go out and SIN?" But she was really fun and it was cool to have a real conversation with people outside of the Bury Bubble.

So then, yesterday, the Res. life staff from Glide Crawford went to Pots on Fire and painted pottery which was super fun. We really do have an awesome staff so it was great to hang out with all of them outside of meetings and such. I miss our time during training!

Finally, last night, a group of 20 some of us went to Cincinnati for a Reds game which was a blast if only because guys watching baseball are ridiculously funny. We got to know a few more guys from the brother hall a little better which was cool, too. And our random stops at Mcdonalds at midnight on the way back was way fun.

Today? Church was really good. I am still making First Alliance my home church away from home church. I really do like it. Pastor Steve is still working through Matthew, preaching a passage at a time every Sunday and he continues to be really insightful and practical without trying to disprove or claim to comprehend the mystery of God. I love being able to take something familiar and giving it more meaning.

As I said, it's been a good week. However, I have four tests and two papers to write this week, so I suppose I should quite procrastinating.

Un dia a la vez.
