So, seriously, I'm a total slacker when it comes to blogging. Maybe it's because I spend far, far too much time reading and not enough writing these days. God knows, it's been months since I actually finished a story I've started. I think my brain is just too scattered out on work and school to focus on a single plot for more than a few days at a time. That could be a hint I need to do more snapshot style shorts, but my brain pushes for detail, and I'm pants at making detail all that interesting.
As far as real life goes, here's the quick and dirty version:
Still working at Johns Hopkins, being an accounting grunt, although I am finally getting involved in the budgeting and forecasting process. I'll have been here three years in March, EEEK!
Still going to BCCC to get my liberal arts credits out of the way before transferring into University of Baltimore. As of Thursday, I'll have 33 completed undergrad credits. I took the summer off (explained below), but I'm aiming for 21 credits this year (9 spring, 3 summer, 9 fall), so I should have my AA at least in Spring 2011. It's a long process, but I'm glad I finally went for it. There's some light at the end of the tunnel that eventually I will be doing something that makes me happy instead of just what (barely) pays the bills.
My family is still crazy and drives me even crazier than they are. My grandfather passed on September 27th, after fighting lung cancer for almost a year. The holidays are really hitting me hard this year, not having him here. Today is the two year anniversary of Sarah's death as well, but I'm at work, so at least I'm not in the quiet, morbid mood that's threatening. Later today/this evening will be another story.
Other than that, things have been pretty quiet. Maintaining the status quo, I suppose.
