sunshine through my window
oh gosh it is effing beautiful and sunny and warm outside! after the blizzards and freeze-your-face-off weather we've been having, I am ecstatic. it makes me want to run around and roll in grass and make sounds of joy.
my roommate Carly and I are making Valentine's Day cookies tomorrow. normally VDay sort of passes me by, but I'm really feeling the love this time. not really romantic love so much as just love for everyone and the world in general. this used to be my default mood, I suppose stuff just got to me over the past years. then again, someone told me recently that sunlight apparently stimulates the production of endorphins, which is why people tend to get more depressed during the shorter days and longer nights of the cold months. and really, it's true that I got a lot more sunlight at home than I do over new york winters.
any way you slice it, it's amazing what a difference to one's general outlook a bit of sunshine can make.
