(hello my name is shelley and i am a crazed rockapella fangirl. *-*) *AHEM.* (seriously, this is kind of ridiculous and embarrassing. I've never had a celebrity crush in my life, but now apparently every time I listen to these guys I turn into a tween girl watching Zac Efron or something. wow. xDD!)
(wtf crazy (quite possibly drunk) people yelling outside my window. o_x oh well, business as usual. probably has to do with the fact that Obama just won the elections, I guess!)
SO Halloween was pretty awesome!! :D I went as a hippie (AGAIN, except this time with a much less last-minute costume) to my school's party, held the day before Halloween. They booked up Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum for the event instead of some lame club like they normally do, so of course I was all ready to go just for that!
picture and further elaborations behind cut:
(The rest of the pictures have other people in them so I'm reluctant to just post them here, but most of you peoples are friends with me on facebook already so you've probably seen them or will be able to if you traipse on over to my profile. xD If you wanna be facebook friends, let me know!)
It was pretty damn awesome. I walked over with a bunch of my friends all in costume and it was so funny to see people looking at us weird. xD Of course I would have felt weird if it was just me, but since these are all my good buddies with me I was pretty cool with it. I gave the subway driver a daisy. :3 My devART-buddy and now SVA-friend Deanna and I were both hippies and we had daisies that we gave to people! Her roommate's idea, I loved it. :D The party hadn't started yet when we got there, but soon enough they'd turned a couple of the larger rooms into dance floors and the rest of the museum was ours to roam around! Be proud of me, I did dance a little (more like flailed randomly and bounced, really), but that was mainly because my good friend Carly was dancing with me. If not for her I doubt I really would have, hahah!
Having the rest of the museum to ourselves was nice too because when we got tired of dancing and loud music we could walk around quieter areas. When we got to the area with the Beatles and Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, which was all flowerpowered out, we were like AAHHH WE ARE APPROPRIATE HERE LET'S TAKE PICTURES. :D It was exciting. We ran into lots of people and some of them were all "PEACE AND LOVE YEAAAHH" so they got flowers and peace signs and everyone was happy. yay! It made me happy to see other people happy, and noticing people walking around all night with their daisies behind their ears or in their clothes (even some of the guys!) was so awesome to see. I was so at home in that role, it's not even funny. xD I want to be a hippie fulltime! We met some other hippies, but they were more like stereotype-hippies, with too much rainbow and tiedye all over the place. We prided ourselves in being the only ones there that looked like we were actually on our way to Woodstock or something. >) We actually offered a flower to one of the 'hippie' dudes and he refused it at first, then came back a few minutes later all "actually, I will take one". xD We still laugh about that. HIPPIE FAIL.
The night after that, Halloween night itself, I took Deanna and her roommate Arielle to the Halloween Parade!! The last time I went was freshman year so it was really cool to see it again. :D I wore my hippie top and headband with jeans, since this would be outside and I didn't want to completely freeze. It was a surprisingly warm night, though. We were kind of squished because there was an immense crowd, but it was so cool to see everyone in costume and all the awesome puppets and great floats with live music yessss! Pictures on the
official site and the
village voice. :) I tried to take some but it was dark and there were people in the way and everything was moving so that my camera couldn't focus properly. D: My little ixus wasn't meant to do that kind of work!
I went shopping on saturday with the girls, too, and I now have a new pair of skinny jeans that I love eeeeee. they make me feel pretty. xD Which is weird I know but it's a nice feeling. Unfortunately the button wasn't sewn on very well, because it popped off the minute I tried to work it through the hole so I could undo them and try them on in the changing room. x_o BUT they stay up when I have a belt on so I've been wearing them like that and they stay zipped and everything. I'll sew on a button or get someone to help me with that eventually! YAY THANK YOU NICE JEANS. I should go shopping again at some point in future.
Anyhow, walking around without a coat on for three consecutive evenings seems to have caught up with me, since I got the sniffles on sunday and pretty much stayed in bed. x_x; I'm still sort of stuffed up, but I've been taking vitamins and am recovering. :D fwee! I should rest up tomorrow or the day after, though. No Aiki for me this week, pff. :[ (yes I am still training! I even made an Ai-con. xD I need to keep fit somehow and it feels good. :3 I need to get back into practice, I haven't trained all summer!)
SO YES. there's my halloween update, I suppose. I want to get in the habit of updating this thing more often, because it's been a pretty awesome year so far and I'm already feeling a lot better than I did in general last year or even the year before. :3 hurrah! thank God! I'll probably talk about that at some point too, I've been musing about it.
To end off, I'd like to proudly present
my new favourite shirt ever. I WEAR IT FOR YOU MI PRINCESA. :D
