Dear livejournal,
At risk of getting all Felicity on yo' ass - although Keri Russell is still on the list - I thought I'd write you another little letter.
Things have improved somewhat. I've got a good job with a subsidiary of the Macquarie Bank which should present lots of opportunities and will look great on my CV when I go home. Starts Monday. I can't say I've worked particularly well in the past couple of weeks. In fact, I'm quite embarrassed by it, but it is a lesson learned: I'm not cut out to work from home.
The new flat is the third best of the four I've had but the first two - Canberra then South Perth - were corkers. I miss South Perth a lot, but wasn't in Canberra long enough. Anyway, this place is alright, and it's starting to feel a lot more like home, particularly as I've almost gotten rid of all the boxes. I still haven't got my main mattress, though.
What else? The first part of the tour was good. We played better each night, and got good crowds in Perth and Freo. My brother and his wife came to Adelaide, partly because it was his birthday a few days later. We went to dinner - Wok In A Box... - then had a drink - at the casino.... - and I felt like I had to hold their hands a bit at the gig because it's not their environment. But it was good to see them, nonetheless. WA was a bit odd. I felt like I was being pulled in about five different directions. For instance, I spent barely an hour with my dad. I wish I had either another couple of days, or that I could go back for a week or something. At least Catherine will be here in two months.
Anyway, thanks for your support, and I hope I don't have to write you another letter any time soon.
Yours,
Me.
