I've probably told most people already, but since a lot of people seemed interested, yes I did get into Wind Ensemble here. It's not that huge of a feat, I think I beat 2 girls at most (and one of them might have just decided not to do it). Still, I think it will be cool. I know everyone wants to visit for the concert (on a Thursday, haha yeah right). I am also taking lessons with a grad student for credit and I am supposed to practice an hour a day. Crap. My lesson is on Monday, and I don't have a way to get into the practice rooms UNTIL Monday. I hope my floormates like to listen to the flute...
Yesterday was kinda crappy, cause I kept doing stupid things (getting my backpack caught in my chair and knocking it over while I was eating by myself in the dining hall and making people look/laugh at me, tripping on stuff, messing up my bike, having a package fall on my head when I was leaning under my bed, etc) but some good things happened too: I got a letter from TATE! It was so exciting. She decorated it and addressed it to "Caity Orange Bunch" which made me laugh. So I will be writing you back, Brittany. The package I mentioned falling on my head was one full of cookies for me from my mom, so that was cool too. Except I am paranoid about gaining weight so it is severely going to test my willpower not to eat a lot at once. I only ate one cookie last night... oh crap I had a 7 layer bar a couple of hours before that.
I went to a gypsy music concert last night for my world music class (we're required to go to 6 out of a list) and it was interesting. I didn't like it at first... there was a keyboard player, a trumpet, a clarinet, and a drumset. The trumpet and clarinet seemed like they were just seeing how fast they could play random notes within the song, and then when the singer came in she didn't seem to be going with the music at all. It was weird. After most of the songs I started to like it, and then we had to switch to a reception room where there was food and people danced to the music. I wanted to dance but I had my purse and sweater and I didn't want them swinging around. I should've done it anyway, probably would have enjoyed it more. There were a couple people who know what they were doing, so everyone was following them, and I liked watching them and figuring out what the pattern was, so I still enjoyed myself.
Afterwards, I went and hung out with Gwen, we went into IV and walked along DP but it was lame and people were annoying so we went back and hung out in my room for awhile. It is always nice seeing her, and Stacie too. I'm so glad I go to school with some of my friends.
Next weekend is going to be so awesome.
