We arn't promised to see the day of tommorrow so we should live every single day to the fullest of our being. "Seize the day" a famous human once said. How should we seize the last day of our life? To love others as you love yourself. With Faith, Love and hope.
Death is a scary event in life. I havent seen someone near death with feelings of bitterness and anger. I've seen love and peace. Knowing of your situation brings forth understanding. Someone in the position of death "understands" his situation.
What about us? We arn't nearly ready for death in our lives to take place. We understand living but we fear death.
(The famous person generally attributed with saying "carpe diem" was Horace the Roman poet/philosopher.)
I'm not sure if your last question was rhetorical or not, but I've decided to answer it. I've often thought about how I might spend the last day of my life, and I think that no matter what I would spend it with those whom I love.

I'm glad you've respawned. I was beginning to wonder what had come of you.
