and of course, the tears came....that show can get me like no other. thank you, bakula
the show we played last week went great. lots of friends in the room mae it a rather great atmosphere. most of the regular homies were m.i.a., but all had great excuses or alibis ;) hopefully next time it can be a full on family affair.
i love that we can make up songs so effortlessly. all we need is a look and a head nod. as amber and i left the show, i told her it felt liek we are a reverse white stripes, britt and i. most people rag the stripes for meg, the drummer, not being an uber drummer. in our case, britt is definately the better musician hadns down....i just got mad freestyle ability with words and can dance my way around some melody/noise. i think we work incredibly well together, regardless. hope everyone that was there had a great time and that the next time isn't terribly far away
i still am yet to have a job, but i think i have one on the horizon
amber and i are going to the atl next week for a few days. dirty dirty what!
i saw that britt posted albums he is currently loving, so why not throw some of mine in the mix. with both together, you can see where our influences match and clash and somehow form a cohesive glue that the world may as of yet be unprepared for
white stripes - get behind me satan
tiger army - III
n.w.a. - straight outta compton
ying yang twins - united state of atlanta
the great redneck hopr - behold the fuck thunder
the great redneck hope - 'splosion
elliot smith - from a basement on a hill
r. kelly - trapped in the closet chapters 1-5
frodus - conglomerate international
puller/roadside monument - split ep
bloc party - silent alarm
alkaline trio - crimson
danzig - 1:self titled
johnny cash - unearthed disc 3: redemption songs
the clash - essential
ll cool j - going back to cali (single)
social d. - death or glory (single)
i'm in the mood for some minor threat. i wish i could write better, more technical songs. i think the last two times we've played, i've sang eerily similar to ian mackaye, when i sing. least thats how it sounds to me.
i love to sing along to songs, not just cause i know them, but even as a child, it made me feel like i was part of the music. learning every elvis song i could, feeling like me and him were on par, winning all the ladies hearts. i still love the king and i even more so love to sing. i hope that one day people can sit around and sing at least one song i wrote, and feel liek they are a part of the music too.
i hear that "highway signs" is catchy.....at least i got one....
may we meet were the spirts rise, and may we dance with all the lovely ghosts
love, the captain
