WOW! It's been FOREVER since I last posted. I'm not even with that loser I was dating before, haha. I really don't have anything to post about right now because my life consists of sleeping and working... but I do read my friends page every day, sorry I'm so boring, haha.

You definately need a new burner. As to cost and choice of external versus internal it appears internal will always be cheaper but USB external more portable. Just remember have to have an up to date USB 2 card for an external to work. I learned this after getting an external burner as well as new internal. Can go to the forum DVD+/- Drives Forum for advice or info on this issue. Do a lot of research before buying as your needs will dictate what is best for you. Cheap is a relative term. $40 to some is not a lot, but to someone like a student it's a lot. I buy discs in 500 lots but then there are those who can only buy 25 or 50 at a time and every coaster is costly.Upgrading to larger HD and more RAM will help with ripping and backing up but be careful if you have an older computer as it may end up being cheaper to buy new one than to upgrade an old system.Good luck and remember most of the people at AD are more than willing to help.To err is human, to really screw up.....use a computer.
