Their faces are red with happiness and cold (or warmth, it’s always hard to tell during the wintertime) and their bodies are wrapped up warmly for the walk home. The sidewalks are covered in a blanket of snow, the Christmas lights, flickering and bright, contrast the silent and dark night in an unusually perfect harmony. Kikwang diffidently stuffs his hand in Dongwoon’s coat pocket. The latter quietly sneaks his own hand in his pocket as well, surreptitiously intertwining their fingers together.
As they reach the door, silence falls. They face each other bashfully, unable to make eye contact for the oddest of reasons. They enter the house, still as soundless, still as shy. Kikwang unzips Dongwoon’s coat and the other does the same. He lets out a small laugh when he sees Dongwoon’s red reindeer jumper. When Dongwoon’s hand reaches up to touch Kikwang’s visage lovingly, he shivers from the coldness of it. Dongwoon tucks a piece of his hair away from his face. The soft brush of Dongwoon’s fingers lingers on Kikwang’s cheek.
Simultaneously, their faces come closer together and suddenly meet halfway-their lips meet and lock in a tangy cinnamon kiss that was awaited and anticipated. Kikwang feels Dongwoon smile through the kiss and can’t help but do the same. When they part, Kikwang gently traces Dongwoon’s strong jawline and rosy cheeks with his hand. It is stopped halfway when Dongwoon decides to take a hold of it tightly. They’re still smiling now, less coy and more comfortable, holding hands firmly, immersed in their own world of hot chocolate and saccharine kisses, oblivious of the cold yet beautiful white world outside.
