Title: Shots and Cocktails, ch 1

Pairing: EunHae (other pairing might come up along the story)

Rating: R-NC-17 - this chapter is R

Warnings: Drugs, language, sexual themes

Summary: Lee Hyukjae is a boy who could have a proper job if he only had finished his studies, he could have a family and a beautiful home, he could go abroad on holidays and he could have made his parents proud of himself. But life didn’t go that way. Now he’s a drug dealer that lives in danger. No one knows him and he lives alone and without a single friend. Until he his old school mate.

At first I couldn't believe my own eyes. The man looked just like the boy from my childhood but he couldn’t be... At the time the boy had been quiet, shy, but extremely smart - smarter than any other in our class. But now, after 15 years, that boy was dancing on a see-through plane above the customers heads.

“Donghae! Wait!” Yelled a boy trying to catch the other walking down the street. The boy, Donghae, didn’t stop though. He didn’t even slow down a bit but kept on the phase. “Donghae! Could you-“

“Forget it Hyukjae! Go home!” Donghae yelled at him. Hyukjae was stunned for a moment. Those were the first words he had ever heard Donghae saying. The boy never said anything, not even in the class. The teachers never bothered him, like they knew it was worthless to try and get an answer to their questions from the dark haired boy.

Eunhyuk got over his shock quite fast and started running again. “I wanted to tell you I’m sorry for what they did to you.” He said as he got right next to Donghae.

“What do you know about it?!” Donghae spat. Eunhyuk didn’t let the harsh tone to bother him. He was determined to let Donghae know he really meant what he said.

“I know because I was at your place once.”

But you tell me that there's something wrong with my eyes. Does that man have a tail?! It must be a fake one... But I must admit it's a quite interesting idea to put a man to wear a tail in a dance bar, if you know what I mean by a dance bar.

I decided it was a fake one (the bar owners had just created a new way to make money) and walked to the back of the bar. I knew who I was looking for immediately when I saw him, sitting around a round table at the back of the bar. Just like he had told me in the letter I had gotten a few day ago.

“You’re late.” He said with the most bored tone a man can have. I didn’t answer, just sat down before him. “Did you get the packet?”

“I did. Did you get my money?” I replied immediately. I hated this, being a delivery boy, but there was nothing I could do to it. Of course I could have finished my studies like I had been supposed to do and that way I could be in a better - in a legal - job. But now I was just a drug deliver and nothing more. There would be no one missing me if I died one day in this job.

“Like always.” The man answered and showed me a brown envelope. He didn’t give it to me, yet, just put it back into the pocket inside his jacket. It was enough for me to know he had the money and it was my turn to show him what I had. It was a small see-through sachet with white stuff in it. Everyone knows what I mean.

I shoved the drug bag on the table and opened my palm, waiting for the brown envelope. The man smiled smugly and gave the envelope. I didn’t say anything as the envelope touched my hand, only nodded politely, got up and stuffed the envelope inside my pocket.

“It was nice doing business with you, once again.” The man said as I started doing my way out of the bar. I had seen enough and I had to get out - fast.

The music seemed to disappear at the second I stepped out of the bar and the door closed behind me. My ears stung and I felt dizzy because of all those neon lights and smoke in the bar. I started making my way home and pulled the hood over my head. No one knew me and I wanted to keep it that way.

The area where my apartment was located wasn’t a place for families or old people. Criminals, drugs and hookers. It was the area of the town where you didn’t want to get lost.

Tonight was a quiet one. There was only one fight on the street that I saw. I had just turned to the alley where the entrance of the apartment building was when a black car sped on the street just before I heard it breaking hard.

I stopped to listen what was happening and hid into the darkness that the alley offered me. There was no time for finding my keys and opening the door. Three doors banged shut so there were at least three men out of the car. I couldn’t hear them talking or their steps.

In a split second the picture of the envelope inside my pocket flashed in my mind but was soon pushed aside when three men showed up in the alley. I cursed inside my mind as I saw the guns in their hands. They were all dressed in black, they were bold and they were all huge. They weren’t Korean, that’s for sure.

I slid down behind the dumpster. If they found me - which was quite possible - I’d be on my way to heaven, or hell. The men were slowly and silently approaching me. Two of them were walking towards the door, one was walking straight towards me sitting behind the dumpster.

I was so sure of my death that I apologized god for not being a good human, for living in sin. But then a miracle happened. The man walking to me suddenly fell to the ground. I couldn’t see what was happening in the alley but everything happened really fast. The two men at the door sprung around only to see their buddy on the ground and then they were both dead in front of me.

Someone on the street had shot all the three men! I didn’t stand up - I wasn’t sure if the shooter would kill me also - and just stared at the two bodies lying on the stairs before the door.

I decided that I needed to get a gun also. Even though my life meant nothing to the other people, it meant quite a lot to me myself.

“You can stand up, you know.” Said a soft male voice. I looked up and saw a man with a hood over his head looking down at me. I slowly stood up but as I did so my eyes got stuck on the gun with a silencer in the man’s hands and I froze. He noticed this and laughed a little. “If I wanted you dead I would have just let those three do it.”

“Thank you…” I guess. The man just shrugged before he took off the hood.

“I saw you at the bar.” He said. I was surprised enough to take my gaze off the gun and look at the man’s face.

“Hell no…” I said, more to myself that to him. “You’re one of the dancers! With the tail!” I couldn’t hold my tongue and cursed in my mind for sounding like an idiot. The man’s small smile faded when I mentioned the tail but it came back quite fast.

“Yeah, my boss thought it was a good idea to wear a tail. Like he would gain more customers by having a merman in his bar.” The man said and rolled his eyes. “I’m Donghae, by the way.” He said and held out his hand. “And I hope I didn’t mistake you as someone else, Hyukjae.” He added with a smile.

“What the fuck?!” I stared at him with my mouth open. “It really is you!” I then smiled and shook his offered hand. “How on Earth did you recognize me?”

“I didn’t at first. But then you just stared at me in the eyes for a moment longer than people usually do and I just knew it was you.”

“Oh… I…” I didn’t know what to say. “Would you like to come up and have a drink with me? We haven’t seen since… was it high school?” I then offered. He smiled widely and nodded as he stuffed the gun inside a bag hanging on his shoulder.

“So, how did you end up here? I always thought you’d go to a university and study well and then get yourself a top job.” I asked as I gave him a bottle of soju. He thanked before he took a long sip of the alcohol. I didn’t drink yet; I was too fascinated in seeing him. It had been so damn long…!

“I’ll tell you when you’re drunk enough so you won’t remember my story tomorrow.” Donghae said while taking a look at the apartment - which wasn’t really worth of taking a look. The walls were dirty and the paintings were peeling off, there were no carpets on the floors, the couch and the armchairs had lost their colors on the textiles - now the old red couch was gray and the chairs that used to be orange had a color that wasn’t either gray or brown.

He suddenly stood up from where he was sitting on a bar chair in front of the high kitchen table. He left his bottle on the table as he walked through the room and stopped when he was in front of the window.

“Only one picture?” He asked. I almost chocked on the liquid in my mouth. Indeed, I had only one photo in the whole apartment. I didn’t want to risk anyone’s lives… If I screwed up in my job then I’d be the only one suffering.

“Yeah…” I finally said, got up and walked to him. He was holding the photo in his hands, staring at it like it meant something to him. A photo of me and my sister on a beach. I had been only two years old, my sister four. None could recognize her from that picture, she would be safe if someone wanted to hurt me or my close ones.

“Why?”

“I knew you’d ask…” I tried to laugh but it came out as an awkward chuckle. He turned his head to look at me without me realizing how close we then were. I quickly took a step back but he didn’t seem to be bothered by the close distance between us at all.

“Did I say something wrong?” He asked with his big eyes locked to mine. How could he still look like a small boy that was bullied at school? He was 10 years older than he had been back then!

“Oh no-no-no!” I quickly answered. “It’s just that… well, you probably know what I do for living…”

“I suppose you’re implying to those men I killed?” I stayed silent. “Then I guess you’re a drug dealer - a poor one.” He said with a grin.

“Yah! Why do you think I’d be a poor drug dealer?”

“No one wants to kill a good dealer.” He said with a wink, placed the photo back on the window and then walked back to the table. “Don’t take it too seriously. Come here, lets drink!”

“So, let me make this clear…” I spoke, completely drunk but I couldn’t care less. “You are a dancer at that bar because you were kidnapped from your parents and forced to dance?”

“And I must dance particularly for men.”

“That sucks.”

I noticed Donghae looking at me - which was a miracle for me since I was so drunk already I barely remembered my own name. His smile that had been there for all night seemed to be fading a little bit but I tried my best in ignoring that fact. I didn't want the subject to turn into something melancholic.

“Something wrong with my face?” I asked, trying to lift up the mood again. He took a sip from his bottle again and flashed me his perfect smile.

“Just...all of it.” He said with a wicked look in his eyes. He then stood up from where he sat and came to me.

“What -”

“This is in a wrong place-” he said and touched my nose. “And these are too small-” he touched my lips. “-and these are of wrong color-” he touched my eyes and this continued down from my face to my toes that he eventually counted wrong.

Then next thing I knew was that I woke up on my own bed, tugged under the blanket, completely naked and with a horrible hang-over.

Well, what can I say.., I panicked!

There had been a man in my apartment last night, we had been drunk as hell, I was now naked in my bed and I was officially bi-sexual. Everyone knew I had the hots for both sexes.

I jumped out of the bed, ran to my wardrobe, pulled on a pair of boxers and ran to the living room. A huge mess greeted me. There were empty beer and soju bottles everywhere, my clothes were on the couch - neatly folded - and there was a broken lamp on the floor next to the small table where it had been standing. Nice.

I sighed deeply and dragged my feet towards the bathroom. I found a pair of socks on my way there, soaked with something wet (I didn’t bother to find out what it was) and other pieces of clothing.

I turned on the shower and stepped under the hot water. The steam filled the whole room while I relaxed and tried to forget everything that could have happened last night, even though I wasn’t sure if it really happened at all.

Once upon a time, there were three populations living in the same world. There was a population living in the seas ruling the waters. One population was living in the clouds. They ruled the winds and thus they controlled the amount of warmth the plants on the ground got. The third population lived on the ground taking care of all the plants and animals there.

All these populations lived in peace and cooperated so that everyone helped each other. The Skyers lived on the clouds that are formed out of the water in the seas. They guide the clouds with winds to help the plants get the sunlight they need. The Seasers and the Skyers cooperated in helping the Earthers to take care of the plants.

The plants and the animals were the Gods - they were to be taken care of. It was why Skyers, Seasers and Earthers were created to the world.

As the time passed, the populations started fighting within themselves. It caused the cooperation to break partly - the clouds started to rain back down to the seas faster than they should have, the sun shone more than before and the surface of the sea started to rise.

The Skyers were the first ones to realize the consequences of their fights. Their Elders gathered into a meeting and agreed to go down onto the ground to meet Earthers - they should be warned and reminded about their mission in protecting the Gods.

Getting down took long. Finding the Earthers took long. Finding their Elders was impossible. The structure of their population had broken down and they had spread all around the globe. They now had many Elders and they had already forgotten their origins and didn’t listen to the Skyers.

The Skyers didn’t give up. They hadn’t forgotten their Gods. They left the Earthers but were then faced with another problem - they couldn’t get to the sea. They could only go down to the ground but not to the seas. The Seasers could only come up to the ground but not up to the sky.

They had to find someone who would still believe them and dive into the seas. The Seasers had to be woken up so that they wouldn’t anger the Gods more than they probably had already.

It was weird, but I found myself from the same bar where I had been yesterday. This time I didn’t have a packet of drugs in my pockets nor did I have to meet anyone. I was there for entertainment.

I wanted to see Donghae again. And, in the matter of fact, I actually like this bar a lot more now that I didn’t have anything to do in particular. It was dark and the only lights were cheerful - pink, light blue, green, orange and light purple. The colors cheered the atmosphere up and thus there were many young customers spending their free time.

I ordered myself a sparkling drink with a lemonade slide in it before I went closer to the dance floors. There were three walls where there were girls and boys dancing behind them in different lights. There was a see-though ceiling with some water on it. I knew Donghae would be there today, otherwise the ceiling would have been dry.

I took a seat in the middle row. The back of the seat could be pushed down when the dancer came on the roof. I didn’t need to wait long before someone started whistling and screaming. Everyone, and I mean everyone, turned their heads up and at the same time pushed the backs of their seats down.

There he was, the Merman everyone had been waiting for. He started his dance on the water; he touched himself, kissed the roof, and teased everyone watching him. It’s impossible to describe how someone, with a tail, can tease a man that much! I was having a hard-on within seconds!

Needless to say, the show ended too fast. I had almost cum in my pants, my drink was completely forgotten on the floor and I was just staring at the empty ceiling with my mouth open. I swear he had seen me and winked when he had twisted his nipples.

I had to meet him! Without a ceiling between us! I needed to get to the backstage.

I already knew there was a door to the backstage behind the bar. The bartender probably wouldn’t let me in so I’d have to wait for Donghae to get out. I sat down on a bar chair, ordered a shot.

“Eunhyuk!”

“Oh, hi Donghae!” I answered to the man peeking out from behind the door at the back of the bar. The bartender looked at Donghae as if he was expecting him to order and to let me in. I was too enthusiastic though and just ran past him, straight into Donghae’s arms.

“I saw you in the audience. Enjoyed it?”

“Do you even need to ask?” I said and tried to sound playful while in the inside I was actually pretty ashamed. Donghae understood what I was talking about in less than a second. A quick glance down towards my crotch made my face turn into bright red.

“Oh,” he said. Before he continued he flashed a wicked smile. “Want me to finish that?”

“Donghae-ah…!” He was a meanie! How could anyone say no to him when he was offering something like that? He didn’t let me finish my words when he already had his hand on my crotch. “N-no. Donghae, we can’t.”

I pushed his hand away, no matter how much my cock protested. Donghae looked at me in the eyes. He seemed a bit surprised but that expression in his eyes faded as he smiled again.

“Come, I have to go change my clothes.” He said and turned on his heels. We went into a room that was full of clothes, make up, wigs and all other stuff that the dancers used. There were girls changing their clothes - my brain was screaming at me! I was in heaven! Boobs and butts everywhere! Where ever I turned my head to I saw a half-naked girl changing her clothes.

“Hyukkie, stop staring at them.” Donghae poked me with his elbow. “They’re full of men staring at them while they’re practically naked. They don’t like it when it happens outside their working hours.”

“Oh, sorry.” I muttered. Damn I felt so embarrassed and stupid. I should’ve realized that.

“C’mon.” Donghae said while rolling his eyes and dragging me to a corner. As we got there he pulled off his lose t-shirt before tucking on a tight wife-beater. He then took off his trousers and changed into jeans. All this time I was nagging at myself not to stare at him.

Who sane person would take a bi-sexual single man into the backstage and dressing room of a dance club and then tell him not to stare?! That, my friend, was a mission impossible.

“Hyukkie, stop staring at me as if you wanted to eat me.” Donghae pointed out as he tried to straighten the leg of his jeans.

“S-sorry…” I muttered again. “Umm, Donghae?”

“Uh-huh?” He answered while jumping up and pulling the jeans on.

“Last night… Nothing happened, right?”

“What do you mean ‘nothing happened’”?

“You know, between us?” Boy, it was so awkward.

Donghae looked up from where he was pulling on his socks. “Nothing happened.” He said it like it was something I should’ve figured out by myself - which it probably was. “Well, to your or my place?” He asked as he stood up.

His place it was. He lived a little further away from the club than I did. The way there took us about half an hour to walk. We used that 30 minutes well though. We chatted a lot about the things that had happened to us after the high school. Now that we weren’t drunk we didn’t have such an absurd conversation.

I woke up in my own bed in the next morning. I had my pajamas pants on, there were no clothes lying around in the apartment, everything was just like normally.

And that was how the week passed by. I did my job as I had always done. There were now men with guns chasing me and I didn’t go to watch Donghae’s performances. I could have, but just didn’t.

Donghae had told me lots of things about his childhood and also how he had ended up in the dance club and this time I really remembered it - I had forgotten it completely when he had told me the same thing while we were both drunk. I didn’t want to bother him right after what he had told me. If I were him I would appreciate my own space also.

“Why is he sitting there all alone?” Asked a boy with big round eyeglasses. The three boys were sitting in the school canteen eating their lunch. The two didn’t really bother to break their conversation about the math test they had just had about the polynomials.

“Hey guys, I’m asking seriously.”

The other one of the boys turned his head towards the boy with the glasses. His expression was screaming in boredom as he spoke. “Look Ryeowook, he’s alone because he wants to. If he wanted to be with someone he could always go to someone.”

“You don’t need to be that harsh Jongwoon.” Said the third boy. The boy called Jongwoon rolled his eyes before he turned back to his food, stuffed it into his mouth and left. Ryeowook and Hyukjae were left alone sitting around the table.

“Should we go to him? Ask if he wants to join us?” Ryeowook asked Hyukjae. The latter only lifted his shoulders and so the two got up from their seats. Donghae wasn’t sitting far from them but as the two got closer to him, he stood up and walked away.

Ryeowook and Hyukjae stopped as they saw Donghae leaving. They changed looks in silence before Hyukjae broke it. “Well, I guess he really does want to be alone.”

A/N: I’m still alive!!! Yay for that! :’D

So I decided to start a new fic. I’ve had tons of good ideas that I’d have wanted to write but I never had time. From now on, I’ll try to write more and update right when I get a chapter done.

This chapter is unbetaed, but I’d like to have an English speaking beta. I’ve had my dear friend as my beta, but even though she’s magnificent I’d like to have a native speaker as a beta. That would give me so much more and it would most likely help me to improve my language.

So if there’s someone who’d like to beta my fic, just tell me or send me PM :)))

And, ofc, I want to hear your opinions! Tell me what you think :D The more comments I get the better and the more I get the energy to write more!

No silent readers, please :))

fic: shots and cocktails, pairing: eunhyuk/donghae, rating: r, genre: romance
