Summary: Donghae sees Eunhyuk at school for the first time when they have to do a presentation in biology together. He has never seen him before even though they have been in the same class for two years. And suddenly his whole life is one big mess that he needs to clean up.

<-- previous--

It was night already when they finally had time to be alone, without any butlers. Donghae found himself sitting on Eunhyuk's bed when the other came from shower. He had only a towel covering his lower half and Donghae couldn't turn his gaze away from his naked upper body, because of two reasons. First reason: Eunhyuk had hell kinda abs! Abs that everyone wanted. And the second reason: the bruises that were covering his smooth skin and a deep looking cut in his side.

"Umm… Could you…" Eunhyuk said before he paused to clear his voice. "…turn around?" Donghae wanted to laugh at Eunhyuk and his shyness but turned to look at the wall behind him as Eunhyuk quickly dropped the towel to the floor and grabbed a pair boxers from his wardrobe. Donghae waited patiently until Eunhyuk climbed onto the bed.

"Do you mind if I don't put on a shirt?" Eunhyuk asked silently when Donghae turned so that he could see Eunhyuk. The dancer was laying on the covers and resting his head to the pillows. He had only pajama pants on, and Donghae could see the waistband of his dark red boxers peaking under the pants.

"Why would I mind it?" Donghae asked. He had meant it to sound like a joke or a little tease but realized it hadn't been such a good idea when Eunhyuk turned his head away and looked at the mirror on the door of his wardrobe.

"Because I'm ugly."

Donghae's eyes widened in surprise. "No! You're not ugly!" He almost yelled. Eunhyuk still didn't look at him and when Donghae glanced to the mirror he could see that the other had squished his eyes tightly shut, as if he was trying not to let tears escape from his eyes. "Hyukkie," Donghae said as he gently turned Eunhyuk's head so that he could look him into his eyes, that were still shut. "Open your eyes, please." He practically pleaded but it was worth it, Eunhyuk slowly opened his eyes. "You are not ugly." Donghae said firmly as he saw Eunhyuk's teary eyes.

The dancer didn't say anything but let a small smile tug on the corners of his lips. Donghae couldn't help but smile with him. They spent a rather long moment together in silence, Eunhyuk laying on his back and Donghae sitting next to him.

"You know…" Eunhyuk started but paused as if he was hesitating. Donghae looked at him and raised his left eyebrow a little. When Eunhyuk didn't continue, Donghae encouraged him by asking,

"Know what?"

"That night…" Donghae's heart skipped a beat. "…I was jogging even though it was late already." Eunhyuk finished the sentence and looked at Donghae. "I needed to clear my head so that I would be able to think about something else than the kiss." There was a slight blush on his face that made him look too cute to be true.

"I really like you, Donghae." Eunhyuk's voice was barely a whisper but enough for Donghae to hear. But the latter couldn't bring himself to say anything.

I like you too. He really wanted to tell Eunhyuk his thoughts but his brains and mouth didn't cooperate. I love you. He cursed himself because he was such a coward to say it but fortunately Eunhyuk spoke again.

"And that's why I don't want anything bad happen to you."

"No one is going to hurt me, Hyukkie. The only thing that hurts me is to see you like this." Donghae said and gently ran his finger down on Eunhyuk's cheek, over the bruises.

"They said they will if I tell you."

Donghae lifted his eyebrow. "They?"

"I didn't see their faces…

I needed some fresh air and even though it was dark outside and almost midnight I wanted to go jogging. I hoped it would clear my head a little. The whole evening after I left Donghae's house had been one big blur and I didn't know anything else than the kiss in front of his parents.

I ran the usual round as I always did when I went to jog. The streets were quiet and the people I usually saw doing their daily jobs were probably sleeping already. The houses were dark, lights off, and the only light outside was the light from light poles.

But then the road went into the woods right next to the neighborhood. I knew there were no lights at all but I knew the road so I just decided to keep on running.

I was in the half way of the dark part of the road when I heard someone yelling.

"Yah!" Of course I stopped and turned around. I saw a dark shape of a man running closer to me. "Are you Eunhyuk?" He asked when he was only a few steps away from me.

"Yes, why-?" I couldn't finish my sentence when I felt someone's hand on my mouth, silencing me. The guy in front of me didn't move but I knew it had been an ambush. I didn't have money since I was wearing my running pants that didn't have pockets in them. I didn't know what they wanted!

But then the first guy placed his hand on my shoulder and the other one landed hard on my stomach. It hurt like hell but because the guy behind me kept me on place I couldn't bent down as I would have done.

Another punch. Tears rose into my eyes as the air escaped my lungs. I tried to get my hands free from but the guy behind me kept his grip. I tried to bent down, I tried to kick, I tried everything I could, but soon they had knocked me over and I found myself laying on the ground with a piercing pain in my side.

They didn't stop hitting me. They kicked and punched where ever they reached. I couldn't yell for help. The pain had taken my vision. Somehow it felt like my body would have gone numb but I could still feel the pain in my face, my stomach and my legs.

I thought they were finished when the kicking suddenly stopped and I heard them moving around me. I tried to gather my legs closer to me and be as small as I could be but then one of them did something I didn't expect. He stepped on my ankle. There was a painful crunch and when the pain reached my brains I screamed. I screamed blindly and took a hold of my ankle as to make it better.

"When I woke up I was here, on my bed. Mr. Lee told me that one old lady had heard me screaming and found me laying on the road. She knew who I was so she had called Mr. Lee to get me home. I should go to visit her tomorrow and thank her…" The final sentence was more to Eunhyuk himself than Donghae.

"I had slept all night and the doctor had come here in the night. He said that nothing is permanent and my ankle would be normal in a few days."

"I didn't notice you had something wrong with your ankle." Donghae managed to say. He was shocked after all what Eunhyuk had said. He was actually really surprised that Eunhyuk had told him this even though he had said many times that he couldn't tell Donghae.

"I had a support around it today." Eunhyuk said shortly. "Anyway… In the morning I got a letter that told me not to tell you or their next target  will be you."

Donghae let out a small laugh and smiled warmly at Eunhyuk. "No one is going to hurt me. Don't worry about it." He stood up from the bed and was about to make his way out of the room. Mr. Lee had told him that there was a free room for him where he could spend his time. But right when Donghae was opening the door, Eunhyuk sat up on the bed.

"Hae-" Donghae turned around with a questioning look. "could you…" Eunhyuk paused. "…spend the night here?"

The question was something Donghae would have never guessed to hear from Eunhyuk's mouth. He stopped on his tracks and kept his eyes locked into Eunhyuk's as his mind was one big deadlock that he needed to solve.

If I stay here I should either sleep on the floor or next to Hyukkie, who has bruises all over his body, only night pants and fucking hot boxers on. I don't know if it would be a good idea to sleep next to him. And there's no way I'd be sleeping on the floor. But I'd prefer sleeping with him to sleeping in a room all by myself…

Eunhyuk seemed to notice Donghae's hesitance. "Please?" He asked, rather begged. Donghae tried to fight against the urge to accept Eunhyuk's request without any back thoughts but they just kept on coming into his head. Until he totally pushed all his thoughts aside. Oh heck…!

"Okay, fine." He said. "I'll sleep here." Eunhyuk's smile made him even more confident about his choice of staying in the same room with the dancer over the night.

Eunhyuk made more space for Donghae as he carefully moved to lay in the middle of his king sized bed. The younger walked towards the bed but before he was about to get between the covers with Eunhyuk he stopped.

"My night pants are in the guest room." He said. Eunhyuk looked up at him and arched his eyebrow before he just simply waved his hand.
"Never mind. Sleep with your underwear, I don't care." There was a hint of a smirk on his bruised face but it was enough for Donghae to notice it. Once again he found himself wondering how Eunhyuk could be so cute and shy at one moment but only a minute after that he could be either mature as hell or sexy and full of self-confidence.

He tried not to think about the slight smirk on Eunhyuk's face as he quietly took off his shirt, jeans following it onto the floor. Eunhyuk lifted the blanket so that Donghae could easily slide next to him on the bed, under the same cover.

There was a moment of total silence when neither of them dared to say anything. But then Eunhyuk cut it by moving closer to the younger -who had crossed his fingers under his head as he laid on his back- and placed his head on Donghae's arm.

"I'm happy you're here. Thank you."

~~~
The day at school was pretty normal, except that the dance rehearsals were cancelled. Leeteuk told Donghae that he didn't want to hold the rehearsals himself because the choreography was created by Eunhyuk and Heechul had told him to come home early -the final fact made Donghae laugh.
During the lunch break Donghae saw Sungmin glaring at him but since the elder didn't bother to come what he had in his mind Donghae didn't let the glances bother himself. When Kibum came to him and asked why Sungmin was glaring at him so deadly Donghae could just shrug his shoulders.
Donghae was already at his locker and about to leave, Hyunjoong showed up with Yunho.
"Hey, Donghae-ah." Hyunjoong greeted him. "You know why Eunhyuk didn't come to school today, don't you?"
"Yeah, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell you guys."
"Oh… Is he OK?" Yunho asked with concern but Hyunjoong seemed to be a bit disappointed because Donghae didn't tell them what was going on, and it was clearly seen on his face.
"He will be, don't worry." Donghae replied with a smile and turned to close his locker.
"Okay, that's good to hear." Hyunjoong said as Donghae turned around again. "Well, see you guys later. I have a bus to catch."
Donghae and Yunho said byes to Hyunjoong as he ran away. They also started to make their ways towards the main doors. They chatted a little about the dance club -Yunho was really sorry that there weren't the rehearsals today- and the elder told Donghae things about the club members and choreographies etc. Donghae was amazed by all the new information he got. Like that little Taemin had joined the dance club while he was just in the first grade of middle high. And Hyunjoong had been the club president before Eunhyuk had joined them.
"No wonder he's so good…" Donghae commented.
"Yeah. He's great dancer. But I need to go now. Jaejoong is waiting for me." Yunho said as they stepped out of the school gates and pointed to the black haired student who was staring at them a few meters away with his hands crossed over his chest.
"Okay. See you around." Donghae said. Yunho nodded and turned on his heels before he ran to the boy called Jaejoong. Donghae looked as they greeted with bright smiles and started to walk away, hand in hand.
Donghae shook his head in disbelief and began to walk towards Eunhyuk's house. He didn't get far, though, when a familiar-looking red car drove pass him before stopping to the side of the road. The door of the driver's side opened and the last person Donghae wanted to see stepped out.
"Get in." Soo man ordered, pointing to the car. Donghae scoffed.
"And why would I do that?"
"Because your mom is sick and she wanted you home." Donghae wasn't stupid. Something in his head was telling him not to believe the man. But if he didn't get to the car he would hurt his mother. And after all she had given Donghae the key and the permission to go with Eunhyuk.
As soon as Donghae had slide to the front seat and closed the door, Soo man sped off. He drove clearly over the speed limits, which made Donghae a bit more worried and wonder what was wrong with his mother. Then suddenly a horrible image about Eunhyuk and what he had said popped up in his mind. 'They will hurt you.' She can't be beaten up, right?!
They arrived to the house in a mare moment and Donghae literally ran into the house as soon as the car had stopped.
"Umma, I'm home." Donghae said rather loudly as he went to the living room. The room was empty -which wasn't that unusual- so he continued towards his mother's bedroom. He opened the door and all he saw was the empty room. Where is she? He closed the door and walked to the kitchen but then again, empty room.
Something was wrong. She wasn't in the house. She hadn´t answered when Donghae had called for her. There were no signs of someone being sick in the house.
In disbelief Donghae decided to check his own room as to make sure to himself that he was right about the fact that  she wasn’t there. He walked into his room and looked around finding nothing but his own and Hara's stuff. He was about to take his phone out from his pocket and call his mom when someone came to the room and closed the door.
Donghae spun around and saw Soo man standing at the door. "Where is she?" Donghae asked. He was starting to get really suspicious because of the way Soo man looked at him. "Is this some sorta sick joke?!"
"She's fine, don't you worry about that." Soo man said calmly. At the same time Donghae realized the words the anger exploded inside of him.
"Then why am I here!?" Donghae yelled.  Soo man pushed himself off the wall he had been leaning and started to approach the young male. Donghae didn't move a slightest and just glared at the old man, who was now standing right in front of him.
"Funny you asked…" Soo man said sarcastically. Donghae looked at him, this time with confused expression. What is he saying? "You need to learn your place." Soo man said, gritting his teeth. "No matter what you say to your mother, you can't fool me, you little bitch."
That took Donghae off guard. "What-" He paused as he tried to register Soo man's words. "are you saying?" Donghae finished the question emphasizing every word.
Soo man, on the other hand, didn't even care what Donghae had said as he opened him mouth again. As the words came out of his mouth he kept his eyes locked to Donghae and the youth didn't like the look in the black eyes before him. "Did you fuck that little slut already?"
Bang! The reality hit Donghae as hard as the hand that landed on his face. He stumbled backwards in order to keep his balance. His own hand automatically found its way to soothe the pain in his left cheek. He lifted his gaze back to Soo man, now full of anger that he had tried not to show. He needed to stay as calm as possible, he needed to play time. He knew that if he fought with Soo man he would lose, no matter what he did.
"What are you-" He tried to ask but his question was once again ignored by Soo man, who spoke again.
"You think you can just leave everything you have and start being gay?" Soo man grumbled and started to approach Donghae again. The younger backed up slowly until the back of his leg hit the bed behind him.
Donghae gave a quick look at what had come to his way before he looked up at Soo man. "Don't come any closer." He said with low voice. He knew Soo man heard him but the old man just ignored the words he said.
"Have you thought of what would your appa say?" The words were like a trigger that made Donghae lose the last bits of his self-control. No one talked about his father like that!
He attacked towards Soo man trying his best to hit him as hard as he could but Soo man blocked it easily. He might be old and in a bad shape but still he was much faster and stronger than Donghae. Well, maybe not that much faster but he seemed to know Donghae's every move.
Now he had a firm hold of Donghae's fist. Donghae yelped in pain as Soo man started to crush his fingers. The pain was unbearable and when he was about to start screaming in pain the free hand of the old man hit him hard to his stomach. Soo man let go of Donghae's hand as the younger bend down to hold both, his stomach and hand.
But even though Donghae wasn't trying to do anything to Soo man anymore -and was on his knees- the old man hit him. This time the hit was not from a fist but it landed in the between of his shoulder blades. And now Donghae really did scream in pain as he fell forward.
"Don't you ever try to hit me, you little piece of shit." Soo man spit out. His voice was ice cold. Donghae didn't dare to move as he laid on the floor, too afraid he would get hit again, but he couldn't control his tongue.
"It was you who hired those guys to beat Hyuk, weren't you?"
Soo man laughed. He fucking laughed! "Do you think I would spend my money on something like that when I could beat him up myself?" The old man chuckled and started to make his way towards the door. He had already opened the door a little when he stopped -his back still facing Donghae who had gotten up to his shaky legs. "Good idea, though."
"You-" Donghae groaned. "motherfucker!" And in the next nano-second he was on Soo man's back and tried to hit him. But the attempt on hitting Soo man died just like the earlier. Soo man turned around in a speed of light -like Soo man would have waited for him to do something- and soon Donghae realized that Soo man had forced him on his knees, again.
What happened next happened fast. But to Donghae everything seemed go on slow motion.
Soo man tilted Donghae's face up. The younger had no choice than look at him. The old man raised his hand up. His fingers were curled into fist. Donghae's mother was standing behind Soo man's back. Her eyes were wide open. She screamed Soo man's name. The fist moved. Donghae's mother screamed more. Pain. Darkness.
~~~

Donghae opened his eyes slowly. At first he didn't know where he was as he looked up to the ceiling. Then he recalled how Soo man had picked him up, how he had told Donghae that his mother was sick. And how Soo man had beat him up.

He closed his eyes again. He wanted to fall asleep again. He didn't want to feel the throbbing pain in his fingers that Soo man had crushed.
"Donghae" He heard his mother's voice. She wasn't far away from him, probably sitting next to the bed. "Are you awake?"

Donghae opened his eyes again and looked to the direction of the voice. She was sitting on Donghae's chair right next to the bed. When she saw Donghae reacting and actually looking at her, she let a slight smile appear on her face.

"How are you feeling?" She asked. Donghae felt like laughing. He felt like shit. His back was arching and his fingers were in fire.  "The paramedic said that you should be alright. Your fingers should get better in a week or two. But we need to visit the hospital so that they can make sure you don't have any head traumas."

Donghae was about to ask her why the paramedics didn't take him to the hospital. But instead he asked, "Where-" he needed to clear his voice. "Where is he?"

He looked at his mom as she turned to take a wet towel from the night table and placed it on Donghae's forehead, cleaning the cut that had opened when Soo man had hit him.

"He's not here." She said. Donghae looked at her while he tried to understand her expression. She was smiling, but it didn't really look as a smile. She was way too sad to smile. "I kicked him out."
