previous--
Donghae, Leeteuk and Heechul were walking side by side to school. The sun was shining brightly and a warm wind was blowing on Donghae's face. He didn't worry about the upcoming day. Not even the old man at his home, probably making out with his mom, had any affects on him right now. The only thing in his mind, the only thing that made him smile was Eunhyuk. He would see him soon and he couldn't wait it.
"Donghae!" A familiar voice shouted behind them. Donghae stopped in his tracks, didn't turn yet, and let his lips curl upwards into a smile. Leeteuk and Heechul took two more steps before they realized their dongsaeng stopped, which wasn't usual for Donghae. They turned to see who had made their little prince stop and managed to see Donghae's smile before the younger turned to face the male student who was running towards him.
"Hey." Donghae said. He was unusually quiet, which made Leeteuk and Heechul to exchange looks and Donghae knew it. He was just too happy to form any reasonable sentences. "I'm sorry I didn't answer you yesterday."
"It's okay. I didn't die because of that or anything..." Eunhyuk grinned playfully. It felt great to see Eunhyuk again. It had been only a day since Donghae saw him last time and still it felt like it had been weeks.
"Umm... How's your grandma?" Donghae asked, trying to create some conversation. Eunhyuk looked at him for a short moment. Donghae could see from his face that he was really confused.
"She's better. But how did you...?"
"Kibum told me." Donghae said before Eunhyuk could even finish his question. The latter only mouthed 'oh' as a reply but he was definitely telling himself how stupid he was. Donghae was slightly amused by Eunhyuk's act. They had only known each other for a week or so and he could read the dancer like an open book.
Donghae could have watched Eunhyuk's face for all day if Leeteuk's voice didn't make him turn his head.
"Guys, we should go if you want to get to your lessons on time."
"Oh, sure." Donghae answered quickly and checked that Eunhyuk was with him before he ran to catch up his hyungs.
"By the way, Hyukkie... I don't think you know Chullie yet." Leeteuk said suddenly and waited until Eunhyuk nodded a little. (God, how Donghae loved it when he was shy!) "So this is my boyfriend, Kim Heechul. Chullie, this is Donghae's future boyfriend." The eldest of them introduced, but the last adding didn't quite belong in there. The two youngest looked at him, both wearing the same shocked expression on their faces.
"What?!" They yelled in unison -Donghae because it was definitely not usual for Leeteuk to say something like that and Eunhyuk because... Donghae sure had kissed him but he had never thought that Donghae could really like him. He was the most popular kid in the whole school, for god's sake!
"You've been too much with Heechul-hyung." Donghae muttered as he speeded up his steps, being the first one of them stepping inside the school gates. Eunhyuk ran after him telling him to wait a little, while Leeteuk gave Heechul a high-five.
~~~
Donghae and Eunhyuk walked down the hallway. People around them turned their heads towards them as they passed by. Everyone seemed to be wondering what they did together, since it wasn't typical for Donghae to hang out with anyone else than Leeteuk (+Heechul) and Siwon.
They separated only when they had to go to their lessons. Donghae had math and Eunhyuk psychology. Donghae stepped into the classroom and was happily surprised to see Siwon sitting on his usual place, on the back line and next to the window. And the place next to him was free -it was Donghae's place, no one wanted to risk their reputation by sitting there. Donghae went to the empty place, put his bag next to the chair and sat down. Siwon didn't even notice him, just stared to his math book on his table.
"Now you don't even see me?!" Donghae asked and let his irritation be clear in his voice. Siwon shifted on his chair in surprise and turned to see Donghae, who eyed him angrily, hurt.
"S-sorry. I was in my thoughts..." The taller said quietly.
"I saw that." Donghae answered shortly. As the taller reminded silent and didn't snap anything at Donghae like he always did when Donghae was being rude. But now he only looked at the book on his table. "What's wrong with you?"
Slowly Siwon lifted his gaze to Donghae, who had his eyebrows together, and opened his mouth to say anything but right then their teacher came to the room and he turned his head to the front of the classroom. Donghae frowned but didn't try to ask it again. It was impossible to even try to make Siwon talk during the lesson. And he would tell him during the break, right?
~~~
"...So that's why I've been kinda avoiding Kibum." Siwon explained the whole situation of how he and Kibum got caught. Donghae had listened to his story closely but no matter how sorry he felt for Siwon, he couldn't form it into words.
"Why are you avoiding him at school? I understand that you avoid him like on your free time but why at school? Your parents would never know who you're with when you're here."
"You don't know them... They are really close with our principal and he sees everything." Siwon replied. His voice was low so that no one else in the corridor could hear their conversation as they sat on the windowsill. They hadn't seen Kibum all day and Eunhyuk hadn't showed up after his psychology lesson, neither had Leeteuk or Heechul.
Sure Donghae knew their principal. He had visited his office several times but it had never been anything serious. Something like little fights in the school yard or sleeping during the lessons, but they were never informed his mom. But he also knew how well their principal knew everything happening in his school and if Siwon's parents had asked him to tell them if their son was hanging out with Kibum, he would call them in the same second he got to know it.
"Hmm... that's complicated..." Donghae muttered. Right then Kibum and Eunhyuk passed by and chatted happily; neither of them even saw Donghae and Siwon. Well, they didn't see them before Donghae jumped up and grabbed a hold of Eunhyuk's arm, spinning the dancer around.
"Oh~! Donghae...!" Eunhyuk yelped in surprise. Donghae grinned to him and then without a word he pulled him along himself to sit on the windowsill. He gave a quick look at Siwon to say something to Kibum who was standing still and staring awkwardly at the floor. But the tall male didn't say anything. His expression was like some modern art painting: a mess. He wanted to tell Kibum he was sorry and he wanted to be with him but at the same time he was scared.
"Kibum, sit down." Donghae finally groaned. Siwon lifted his gaze from his feet to Donghae, telling him silently how idiotic he was! But Donghae didn't care. He just turned his attention to Eunhyuk, pushing him a little so that there was space enough for Kibum to sit between him and Siwon.
"Uuh... thanks." The youngest of them said silently and sat carefully not to touch Siwon.
"You..." Donghae said, pointing Siwon with his index finger. "...are coming to my place today, right after the dancing club." Siwon looked at him dumbfounded and nodded. He clearly had no idea what Donghae was planning. "And you..." He now pointed to Kibum, who looked at him and raised his eyebrows a little. "...will come at 6pm."
Siwon's jaw dropped. "Are you serious?!" He hissed before he even realized how rude he was towards Kibum and quickly turned his attention to the clock on the wall.
"I am. And you can't get away from it." Donghae grinned.
"There's just a little problem." Kibum said quietly. "I don't know where you live." He smiled a little and made sure that Siwon didn't see before he grinned to his hyung.
"I can come with you. I don't have anything important to do after dancing anyway." Eunhyuk joined to the little conversation behind Donghae, who looked at him with the same expression Siwon had had a while ago.
"You are?" Really?? I didn't think he'd come any time soon after the kiss...
"Yeah, why not?" Eunhyuk asked and Donghae could hear a teasing tone in his voice. And God he wanted to hear that voice again!
"Where will we meet, Hyukkie?" Kibum asked with a smile. Donghae left himself out as the two started chatting about how and when and where they'd meet. He looked behind Kibum's back to see Siwon, who was in his own thoughts again. Then something behind Siwon caught his eyes. Rather someone.
Hara was looking at them with interest. She had about ten girls around her, talking loudly and quickly but she didn't really pay any attention to them. Her eyes were clued to Donghae and when she noticed Donghae looking at her, she gave him a mix of smile and smirk that made shivers go down on Donghae's back, and not in the positive way.
"We should go to the next class." Eunhyuk suddenly said and got up. "See you in the biology lesson." He said to Donghae and gave him a gummy smile. Eunhyuk's voice made Donghae turn his gaze from Hara and a smile to appear to his face.
"Yeah, sure. Siwon, let's go." He said and tapped Siwon's shoulder, making him come back down to Earth.
~~~
Donghae was at his locker and put his bag into it. Eunhyuk was already standing beside him and they had plenty of time to get to the dancing room so they didn't hurry. The corridors were full of students and when they finally made it to the dance room, they were stopped by Heechul who grinned like a Cheshire cat.
"Hyung! What are you doing here?" Donghae asked. He knew Heechul couldn't dance. He only danced when he was too drunk to remember it.
"Came to keep an eye on you." He said mischievously. Donghae looked at him suspiciously but didn't say anything, just walked pass him to the dance room. But Eunhyuk couldn't be as rude.
"Well, you're welcome. Leeteuk should be here soon if he's not here already." He smiled and let Heechul enter to the room first and then closed the door behind himself.
"He's here already. He just told me to ask you if it's okay if I watch your practice." Heechul said lazily and walked across the room to the chair next to the CD player. Eunhyuk didn't know what to say, so he just hummed a little amusedly and went to the dressing room.
"You let him in?" Leeteuk asked Eunhyuk as soon as he opened the door. The elder had already changed his clothes and Donghae was behind him, taking off his shirt.
"I did. Why?" He answered. Donghae let out suffocated laughter at the question. He knew already why Leeteuk wouldn't have wanted Heechul there as he danced. And he was right. Leeteuk's face became reddish and he quickly turned his head away.
"N-nothing." Eunhyuk raised his eyebrow and Donghae decided it was his turn to pay back the comment from the morning.
"It's just that hyungs will have a long night if Heechul's here watching Teukie dancing." He said and laughed at Leeteuk's expression. The color of his face resembled a tomato more than the color of human face. When Donghae couldn't control himself anymore and laughed as much as he could, Leeteuk turned to smack his head. But it didn't have any effect on Donghae. He kept on laughing so Leeteuk kept on smacking and eventually he had to run out of the dressing room.
"What's wrong with you now?" Heechul asked him as Donghae stormed to the dancing room, where Yunho and Taemin were already there with a thin guy Donghae didn't know, but who he assumed to be Hyunseung. Heechul leaned at the wall next to the door of the dressing room.
"Nothing..." Donghae replied and tried to look as innocent as he could even when he knew Heechul wouldn't buy it. And his failed attempt got even worse when Leeteuk came from the dressing room and he gave Donghae a look to keep his big mouth shut. And that glare made it hard for Donghae to keep himself calm -as calm as he could be.
"Well, if Donghae would stop that fooling we could start warming up with our old choreography." Eunhyuk said as he also came in to the room. Donghae's mood changed in a split-second. How am I supposed to know their old choreography!? Eunhyuk saw his expression as he walked pass Donghae to the CD player to put on the music. "Don't worry, I'll teach it to you quickly." He said and smiled encouraging.
As the others danced with Leeteuk as their leader, Eunhyuk lead Donghae to the other side of the floor and started to tell him the steps. The beginning was easy but then it got harder and Donghae had to really concentrate on what Eunhyuk was doing but it was really hard because the one who tried to teach him the steps was the sexy and hot and anything but shy Eunhyuk, who he had seen in the last dance practice.
~~~
"I won't be there for long." Siwon said quietly as he walked beside Donghae on the sidewalk, almost at Donghae's house.
Donghae didn't want to listen his complains or anything. He didn't say anything at first but then Siwon spoke again. "I can't take that risk. If my parents will find out I met him, they'll make me change the school."
"They wouldn't do that." Donghae said. It sounded dry and Donghae knew how wrong he was. Siwon didn't even need to say it out loud, they both knew how wrong Donghae was. "And they won't find out. How could they?" He tried to smile to Siwon, whose expression reminded the same, thoughtful and serious.
Only one turn to the right and they would be at Donghae's house. And then he would get his brain working and he could say something reasonable to Siwon. He really should start believing Donghae and stop being such a mom's boy. But just after Donghae thought everything would get clearer in his head when he'd get home, a girl yelled him behind them.
"Oppa!" Ignore her, Donghae. She didn't yell you by your name. Donghae was acting like he didn't hear her and kept on walking. Siwon looked at him with a questioning expression but since Donghae didn't react he turned his gaze away. But the girl didn't stop. "Donghae-oppa!" God damn it! WHY?!
Donghae's inner self was cursing that girl to the burning hell at the moment she called him by his name. Now he had to stop and Hara sure knew it. He couldn't just walk away anymore and now Siwon was looking at him oddly as Donghae stopped and cursed out loud.
"Finally. I've ran after you all the way from school." She said when she came to them. Why didn't you run a little faster then? Donghae thought but he couldn't say it. Something was stopping him from being mean and such an ass. But it was all gone when Siwon asked him who she was and she decided to answer before Donghae could even open his mouth. She seemed to know that he was going to just say 'no one'.
"I'm Hara, Donghae's girlfriend, future wife." She said and offered her hand to Siwon. He shook it a little hesitantly.
"Siwon, Donghae's friend."
"Oh~! I've heard of you! You're one of the smartest -and richest- kids in our school." She smiled brightly.
"And you're such a pain in my ass." Donghae muttered and rolled his eyes. He just couldn't hold it back anymore. If she was going to start kissing Siwon's ass just to make him like her, she was going way too far and Donghae wouldn't let it happen.
"Lee Donghae! That was rude!" She screamed and slapped his arm. And it hurt!
"YA! Show some respect for your oppa!" He yelled her and rubbed the spot she had hit. There's gonna be a bruise tomorrow...
Siwon laughed a little, clearly amused by the situation, and said to Donghae: "How can she show any respect if you're acting like an ass?"
"SIWON! THAT'S NOT HELPING AT ALL!" Donghae cried. How can his best friend be on her side?
"Anyway, you didn't tell me you have a girlfriend." Siwon said. Donghae was surprised to hear a little concerned tone in his voice. Just a moment ago he had been so amused.
"I didn't?" Donghae asked surprised but Hara asked the same before he could even open his mouth again.
"He didn't tell you?" Hara exclaimed and then turned to give a death glare to Donghae, who was speechless.
"No, you didn't." Siwon answered to Donghae. The shorter guy opened his mouth but closed it right away -again. He didn't know what to say. Fortunately for him, Siwon's phone started to ring and he excused himself as he walked a little further away, leaving Donghae with Hara. And of course she couldn't be quiet.
"I saw you at school. Why didn't you come over to talk with me?"
Donghae looked at her, not believing his ears. "Are you seriously asking me that?"
"No, but I just wanted to create something to talk about so that Siwon wouldn't suspect us and it would be weird if we didn't talk anything while he's on the phone." She answered and started to tinker (with) her long fingernails. Donghae sighed. He didn't understand her. At first she acted cute and innocent little girl and at the next moment she's the real Devil on earth.
"I'm sorry Hae, but I must go home. Appa called me and we have some important appointment with his co-worker." Siwon said as he came back to the other two. That was definitely not what Donghae wanted to hear! His mind was blank before he truly realized what Siwon had said.
"What? No!" He exclaimed. Hara looked at him like some cheap whore. She was happy to have Donghae just for herself and she didn't have to share him with Siwon if the tall male wasn't coming.
"I'm sorry." Siwon said again. "Good day, Hara-ssi." He said to Hara and then turned on his heels and totally ignored Donghae's pleading look.
I can't believe what he just did!
Donghae didn't have any other choices but to follow Hara as she started to walk towards his home. God knows how long he could say it as his home before he should start calling it as their home. And just after he had thought it they arrived to the house and Hara took out a bundle of keys and chose one key which didn't look like the house key Donghae had, and opened the door.
"What the fuck?" Donghae questioned and pointed to the lock as Hara had already stepped inside. She calmly took off her shoes and put on a pair of pink slippers before she turned to look at him.
"Soo man changed the locks of this house." She stated. It sounded like it was nothing but Donghae didn't miss the little clue.
"All the locks?" He asked and raised his eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yes. All of them." She said simply and then took her bag from the floor in attempt on going to the living room. But Donghae didn't let it be just like that. He stepped in, slammed the door shut with force and literally kicked off his shoes. Then he stormed to the door of his room: Yes, its lock was also changed!
"And what was the big idea of changing this lock?" He yelled to Hara. She was now sitting on the couch and had taken her homework from her bag.
"So that you can't escape if you're on a bad mood. I heard from your mom that you have that habit. And I don't want to worry about you through nights." She said. Donghae was wordless. His mom had told (her) that? But they were even with that! The first time Donghae spent the night somewhere else than home, without telling her, had been a long time ago and she had told him how she did the same when she was a teen.
When he didn't come up with anything to say, he opened the door -since it wasn't locked- but waited a second before he entered. I'm gonna move out if the room has changed at all! Fortunately it hadn’t. It was just like he had left it yesterday. The bed was undone, there were a few pieces of clothing on the floor and his desk was a little messy, and his and Eunhyuk's biology project was there. I should finish that. But I must call Hyukkie and tell him that Siwon didn't come, so that he can call Kibum...
He fell onto his bed, on his back and took out his phone. He quickly found Eunhyuk's number and pressed the green button.
"Hey Hae!" Eunhyuk's cheerful voice answered in no time. Donghae smiled as he imagined Eunhyuk's smile that showed all his white teeth and gums. The smile that reached to his eyes and what made him look even more gorgeous yet innocent.
"Hey. Umm... About that Siwon and Kibum's meeting... Siwon didn't come here." Fuck you Hae! Why do you have to stammer like that?! "So I don't think you need to come."
"Oh... Too bad. Kibum was so hopeful... Well, maybe tomorrow?"
"I'm not sure. I need to think about that."
"Why? I'd like to meet you..." How cute can man be? Eunhyuk's voice was so quiet that Donghae barely heard it and he knew how Eunhyuk was blushing at that moment.
"Something with my mom and her man..." Donghae tried to bite back all the curses and bad thoughts he had about Soo man. Eunhyuk just wasn't the right person who to talk to with about that. But he didn't want to lie to Hyukkie either.
"Oh... Okay. We'll see some other day then?" Eunhyuk asked, disappointed. Donghae was silently happy that he didn't ask more about his mom and her man. And he would have lied if he said that he didn't want to see Eunhyuk. He wanted, he really did, but right now he had some other things to do.
"Yes, some other day." He said and tried to sound comforting even though he didn't know if he succeeded or not. Apparently he did because Eunhyuk didn't sound that depressed as he said good bye and hang up.
