I do things because I can, don't you?
I don't post journals like this very often, but here it goes...(mostly because I can).
at the end of EVERY single damn semester I get frustrated when everyone starts posting their grades to livejournal, or when someone asks me how I did...b/c I am never fully satisfied with how my semester ends up. Which let's face it, I don't think I will EVER be satisfied with my grades, b/c college isn't high school. In high school I ACED everything. I got 4.0s in my sleep. College isn't that easy, and I am thankful, frankly. But this semester, I am happy with my grades. Not fully satisfied, but definitely happy, because I know I did my best... well, I can always do better, but I did pretty good.
PSCI 216 Public Policy Analysis (Grossman) 3.7
HIST 310 African Identities (Carotenuto) 3.7
MUS 120 Music as Creative Process (MAC) 4.0
COMM 241 Public Speaking (Brubaker) 3.7
and then the typical bowling and symphonic band... I love those extra P.E. classes, they are a great stress reliever, and Band, well, it's band..need I say more?
But seriously... I rocked out in Mac's class. I actually thought I would get a 3.7, so it was exciting when I got a 4.0. I learned a LOT in his class, mostly because I have NO formal background in Music outside of being in band since the 5th grade and choir for 4 years in high school. I really enjoyed the final project in his class, and I am glad I took his class. Most non-music majors in the class were taking it for the artistic mode or whatever it is called.. but not me. I fulfilled that with Theatre 111 during my freshmen year, but I just really wanted to take the class because Mac was teaching it and because it sounded VERY interesting. Glad I did.
As for public policy and African history, I was satisfied with 3.7s in those classes. Public speaking SUCKED, because I should have had a 4.0 but I turned in one assignment late, and she didn't cut me a break, which pissed me off. But that's ok, I learned my lesson.
I have to thank my living situation for my grades this semester. Living in the 507 Erie St. Annex was SO GOOD for me. I became good friends with ALL of the girls, and I was finally in an environment that respected my living style. We all complimented one another, and on countless occasions they made sure to tell me that they thought I fit in really well. which helped a lot. I could study when I wanted to study, watch Gilmore Girls all day when I didn't want to do anything (we all did that alot, haha) and I could shut my door when I needed to be alone, and open it when I wanted to have company.
:) Good job Lizzy. This semester went pretty well.
