The B8....we're kind of a big deal :)

The Indoor Concert was today.....and I think we rocked out, so there! :)

I can confidently say that this has been a great season. It had its moments, you know- like the time when I started a song without calling the band to attention (OOPS, Mac said he will never let me forget that one..with a smile of course). but there have also been very good moments, like when I mastered the game of football and successfully cued the band for many many many stands tunes! (it sounds easy, but you really have to understand football, and there's no dilly dallying allowed). All in all, I am very pleased with this season....we've got the band banquet this coming friday, and the Albion Aglow parade in a few weeks, but other than that- it's over.

I already started thinking about next season, wondering who will be my asst. Drum Major (pending I am head drum major that is) and how many freshmen we'll get, who will come back, who will quit, what shows we'll play, even the senior show has already started running through my mind!

I came to the conclusion today that had I been a drum major in high school, I bet I would be a music ed major right now, and not poli sci, history. I love being on the podium, and I am so thankful that Amy and Mac have taught me everything they have so far, but even more so, I am excited to practice this winter/spring/summer, and challenge myself to be an even better Drum Major for next year. Don't get me wrong, I know that being a drum major is very different from being a Band director, but I still think that had I experienced what it was like to lead the band in high school in the ways that I have in just a few short months, that I'd be an aspiring band director right now. :)

well, time to get back to my history paper, after all, I AM a history major, right?

oh and btw....since I'm NOT a music major who is aspiring to be band director, I most definitely WILL be the "intense band mom" once I have kids. The one who chaperones every band trip, helps hem the uniforms, takes over the band parent concession stand to help pay for my child's trip to disney magic music days, and so on! :)

I only have one thing left to say-
