So, as I was enthusing earlier, this has pretty much been the awesomest Christmas ever.  We got snow, which NEVER EVER HAPPENS EVER.  (We rarely even get flurries in December, let alone snow. Let alone snow on Christmas.)  But other than that, it's been a pretty good year, even though I knew pretty much everything I was getting since I was there when it was purchased.

Still, good haul. Got some really nice clothes, even though one of my shirts that we got at Forever 21 in Atlanta (I'd gone shopping with my stepmom and stepsister down there; Megan H and I basically picked out our presents.) still had the sensor on it, and since it's one of those with ink in it and we don't have a Forever 21 in Chattanooga (yet; I hear we're getting one and it excites me greatly as I adore that store. I'm quite girly when it comes to style, but I'm majoring in Fashion Design, so I'm allowed to be), I have to take it to the one in Nashville to get them to take the sensor off.  One of my favorite things is my lovely red pea coat. It's a bit longer, and it's got a little belt and it's gorgeous. A red pea coat is one of those things that I've always sort of wanted just for the sake of it.  There's something novelty about it; like a little black dress or a pair of high-heeled red patent pumps, or a locket pendant or a music box; I just want one for the sake of having one because there's something special about it even though it's rather simple and by all accounts rather mundane in the grand scheme of things.  I don't know if that makes any sense.  But now I have a gorgeous warm red peacoat. Now I just need to get a music box that plays "Beyond the Sea" and some red patent pumps and I'm set for life. (I'm kidding.)

Got some gorgeous statement necklaces; and even a Betsey Johnson necklace, pair of earrings, and watch. I'm not a watch person, (or bracelets; they get in my way when I'm trying to draw and sew and stuff), but it's sparkly and gorgeous and for the love of Gumby Betsey so I love it anyway.  Got lots of jewelry, as always, as everyone knows it's the one thing they can get me where they just can't go wrong.  Big gift this year was my Kindle.  I prefer good ol' fashioned books, but I never have time to go to the bookstore, and having something small and portable like the kindle should help me get back to voraciously tearing through book after book the way I used to.

Got three CD's that'll make driving bearable until I can get my iPod fixed or replaced (it died).  Two latest Owl City albums and the soundtrack to "How to Train Your Dragon".  Got some DVD's as well: Toy Story 3 for the whole family, and the first season of Courage the Cowardly Dog because it's the best show EVER and I was thrilled to death to get it.  I didn't know so many of my favorite episodes were all on that season. (Including "Little Muriel", my favorite episode ever.)

Grandmama got me some floor lamps for my apartment, which was very nice since my living room and spare room don't have overhead lighting. Got some books, the newest Raving Rabbids game, and then this "My French Coach" game thing for my DS. I've forgotten so much since I graduated high school, and after four years of taking French I don't want to forget everything I've learned, so I thought that might be a good way to keep from forgetting everything.

Got to see most of the family over the last two days.  Yesterday was my stepmom's family get-together, so I got to see my cousing Cherish and her little girl Cori.  Cherish's husband is a marine biologist, so they live down in Myrtle Beach, so I don't get to see her but maybe once a year, and I hadn't seen Cori since last Christmas.  Cori just turned one in August, and omigawd is that little girl adorable.  She was a bit fussy yesterday, and didn't really want many people holding her, but after I went with her up the stairs, and down the stairs, and up the stairs, and down the stairs, and up...and you get the picture. She let me hold her without screaming.  Aleigh, who's about 3 or 4, was fascinated by Cori (or "Baby' as she called her), and kept dragging her all over the place. We had to keep telling her, "Aleigh, she's just a baby, she can't walk that fast, slow down."  I swear, every Christmas there are more little second cousins.  I remember Aleigh being born, but I didn't know she had a little brother until last Christmas.  I've given up on keeping track of Lupi's kids, and Gabe's kids have been here a while, so I know who they are, but I can't remember the littlest's name.  AJ's Aleigh and Jake are easy enough, because they're loud, and I suppose I can keep up with Cherish because I was always closest to her. (I was in her wedding, after all.)  They're all my step-cousins, so I didn't grow up with them as much as Megan H and Hunter did.

I'm rambling now, I'm sorry.  Probably not the most interesting entry, but I'm doing this for myself most of all.

Finished reading Catch-22 the other day.  That's got to be the craziest thing I've ever read.  Loved it, but my gosh, that was an insane read. Now I've got to get Closing Time, because I want to know if Yossarian ever made it to Sweden with Nately's whore's kid sister or if Nately's whore ever succeded in killing him (I'm sorry, but that's all she's called in the book.) or if Clevinger ever made it out of that cloud, or if the chaplain ever punched Captain Black, and if poor Doc Daneeka ever got to tell his wife he didn't die.  (Insanity, I tell you. Madness.)
