A/N: The continuation of “
It’s Hard For You and Me”. This is part 2 of 3~ lol it went from a stand alone to a 3 part thing (I haven't written the 3rd part yet~ I promise that one WILL be happy). Ah, you also have to pretend that the accident in April didn’t happen (because I stupidly forgot to take it into account when I wrote this) so that the role of Kyuhyun being able to comfort and look after people is plausible. One more thing, Heebum = Hanjaeheebum - Heechul's cat. Sorry for any mistakes~ I didn't get to read through it very well.
Heechul; Master of Hidden Emotions
It was hard to pretend like nothing had happened. But he had to, for the sake of keeping Super Junior together. It had been about a month since that day he had cried over Sungmin and he felt so much more alone than ever. No one had come to find him that day, and was left to be by himself, drenched in his own tears, his only comfort being the soft purring of Hanjaeheebum - his cat.
Sungmin on the other hand, got the sympathy and comfort from anyone who had heard about what had happened. They all believed that he was the one in the wrong. Whenever the other members saw Heechul, they made an effort to act normal, but it was still a strain as they were disgusted by the fact that Heechul would hurt the younger member in the way that he did. Even Kibum was finding it hard to talk to his hyung. What they didn’t realise was that he was hurting too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He acted the same as he always did. He still made fun of whoever was around and constantly teased and hugged anyone who he wished. However, they didn’t react the same way that they used to and he started to feel uncomfortable even looking in their direction. But he had to try~ for the sake of Super Junior. Super Junior wouldn’t be the same without me. Heechul chanted this to himself every night in the hopes that he’d start to believe it himself.
It was hard for Sungmin too. A month had passed and he was still constantly thinking about his hyung. His eyes were regularly red from the tears and he wasn’t doing a very good job of moving on. The group didn’t feel complete any more. With this fight between him and his hyung, it felt as though he was making the members choose his side. Although, all this attention was making his head swell. I’m worth more. I don’t need Heechul at all. Leeteuk encouraged this kind of thinking as he didn’t think that Heechul was good for Sungmin.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was only when the recording of the second album commenced that things started to ease up and return to some sort of normalcy. Heechul was annoyed that he couldn’t actually do anything to his real hair and was forced to wear a wig. His concept was that of an anime character, so far from what Sungmin had decided to do. They still weren’t talking but by this stage, the other members had forgiven Heechul for the sake of producing the second album smoothly.
“Kibummie~ come here!”
Kibum complied, he wasn’t in the mood for angry!Heechul.
Upon reaching him, Heechul gave him a big cuddle. He pulled away slightly and stroked Kibum’s cheek.
“Kibumah~ komawoyo. You’ve been such a good dongsaeng!”
He grinned and cutely kissed Kibum on the cheek. Bursts of affection to Kibum like this was common; especially when Sungmin was around.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sungmin really hated his new concept. It was so different to who he actually was that it made him uncomfortable at first. It was only when he found amusement in flipping his hair around that he became happy with it. The tension for the past few months between everyone and Heechul angered him. He didn’t want everyone to be angry at Heechul. Their fight should only be between them and no one else. “Teukie hyung,” Sungmin would whine. “Tell the other members to be nicer to Heechulie! Please?” Jungsu would only laugh and ruffle his dongsaengs hair. “Heechul’s a big boy, Sungminah~ he can take it.” And that’s how that always ended.
He noticed Heechul’s rising affection towards Kibum. He knew they were close, but he winced when he saw the peck on the cheek. He got increasingly jealous and it made him want Heechul more, instead of helping him move on from him. Sungmin figured that to fully get over Heechul, he’d have to think and act like him. This was just to prove that he didn’t actually like him. Sungmin started being playful (in a different way to his cutesy style) and made fun of people more. He also started to do a ssukso (rotten smile), just like his hyung. The members started to complain about this newly transformed Sungmin. They didn’t need two Heechul’s!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heechul was less like himself each day, though he wouldn’t admit it to anyone. This fight with Sungmin was really taking it’s toll and he still cried every night - under the covers, as quietly as he could so no one would hear him. Over this time, he had lost a lot of his arrogance but his pride was still sky high. As a result, he treated everyone a lot better than he previously did. He acted like a little kid to hide his journey into depression. “Tip, you’re it!” he would cutely smile at Youngwoon, taping him lightly on the shoulder. Youngwoon would then in turn grin and tap Heechul on the shoulder as well. Then, in a fit of giggles, they would link their hands together and spin around until they both fell down. Silly games like this one became a regularity for Heechul. Most of the members were slightly confused with his change in behaviour, but they weren’t complaining as Heechul hadn’t gotten angry at all in the past months and they were very thankful. Sungmin, on the other hand, was a different story.
“Kibummie~ come here!”
This was the fifth time in the past week that Sungmin had asked for him. As always, Sungmin would give his dongsaeng a big cuddle and ask if he wanted to play computer games.
“But hyung, you don’t even like computer games!”
“Ya! Kim Kibum! You think that was a request? Aish, come on, let’s just plaaaay!”
He dragged Kibum to the computer and watched him play (as much as he adopted Heechul‘s personality, he just couldn‘t fathom computer games). Sungmin also spent a lot more time with Heebum and over time, Heebum started to prefer Sungmin over Heechul, because let’s face it, Heechul went weird! Sungmin was enjoying himself so much that he thought that he would like to act in this manner forever. Even though he got angry a lot faster and easier, he loved the feeling of scaring people so much that it wasn’t an option to argue. He always got his way and took it even further than Heechul did.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heechul noticed Kibum looking contemplative. He missed spending time with his dongsaeng and thought he’d go say hello. He came up behind Kibum and wrapped his arms around him. “Annyeong!” Heechul grinned and asked him how he was feeling. Kibum felt a bit uncomfortable. “Hyung, you’re acting weird again…” Heechul only giggled and pecked Kibum’s cheek. He was about to launch into a conversation about cute hair clips when Sungmin intervened.
“YA!”
He seemed really angry. Heechul hid behind Kibum, his nose poking out over Kibum’s shoulder.
“YA! KIM HEECHUL!”
This was the first time in months that Sungmin and Heechul acknowledged each other (with the other knowing). Eyes wide in fear, Heechul replied.
"…what is it, hyung?”
Heechul didn’t mean to call Sungmin “hyung” but it just came out. It sounded right somehow. He cowered behind Kibum.
“Let go of Kibum.” Sungmin said simply. “He’s mine.”
He watched a smirk form on Sungmin’s face.
“But… Sungmin hyung!”
“I SAID LET GO, BRAT!”
Heechul obeyed and ran as far and as fast as he could. Upon entering the dorm, Kyuhyun found a sobbing Heechul in the corner of their living room. “What’s wrong, hyung?” he asked, quite concerned. He grabbed Heechul into a hug. He never saw Heechul cry. “It’s Sungmin hyung…why,” he hiccupped. “…would he treat me this way?” Kyuhyun held Heechul tighter, a bit confused. “Hyung… you know that Sungmin isn’t your hyung, right?” Heechul nuzzled his head closer to Kyuhyun, choosing to ignore the question. “You really give good cuddles, Kyuhyunnie,” he whispered still avoiding the question. “Too bad they don’t make the images of Sungmin go away…” He could only cry harder. Kyuhyun tried to comfort him. But why did this seem awfully familiar?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sungmin glared at the interaction between Heechul and Kibum. He had made it clear to everyone that he was the only one allowed to be affectionate to Kibum. He kept watching until he couldn’t take it any more. He stormed over.
“YA!… YA! KIM HEECHUL!”
He was so furious that he didn’t even care that he was talking to Heechul. He carefully watched Heechul’s face which was covered in fear.
“…what is it, hyung?”
His reply was so meek. “Hyung”? Ah yes, this was good. This meant that Heechul knew who was in charge!
“Let go of Kibum.” he said simply. “He’s mine.”
He smirked at what he knew Heechul’s helpless retaliation would be.
“But… Sungmin hyung!”
Sungmin wasn’t in the mood for nice.
“I SAID LET GO, BRAT!”
It must’ve been the last word that did it, because Heechul obeyed and ran. Sungmin grabbed Kibum by the waist and hissed into his ear, “You fool around with anyone else again, and you’ll be sorry. Arasso!?” He let go of Kibum’s waist and cupped his face. He kissed Kibum on the tip of his nose. Kibum started to complain. “Sungmin hyung…” Sungmin abruptly interrupted him with a finger to Kibum’s lips. “Shhh Kibummie. Complaining will only make you ugly.” Sungmin grinned, eyes filled with malicious intent.
