Erm a bit difficult since I would think some of the common ingredient here might be more expensive on your side. Let's just give it a try.
If not you could use the sites to browse through

Oh do those sound good! The potato patties would be really cheap to make, as would the rice and the noodle dish. All the ingredients on those first three are easy to find, except one. What are the garlic chips? Is that something I could make? Is it garlic flavored potato chips? Or slices of fried garlic?

The last page has some recipes with ingredients I don't recognize or can't afford. But it also has quite a few with ingredients that I can get or substitute something similar, since I've had the original and know the taste. They sound very yummy.

Thank you!!

LOL yeah the last page is just extra tacked on

re:garlic crisp
Now that you mentioned it, judging by the content I will say slices of fried garlic, but I find mentions this page though . You can also apparently replace the coconut milk with normal milk

Actually, now most malaysian like replacing coconut milk with ideal milk. Healthier. You're a Malaysian too I presume? Which state? I'm sarawakian.

Oh thanks! I'd heard the trick of using milk to cut the flavor of garlic. I wonder how it would taste without that step so I wouldn't waste milk? We love garlic so a strong flavor wouldn't bother us, but sometimes garlic is so hot if you don't get the raw flavor out.

I think skipping milk should be ok. We never use garlic chips anyway. I'm not sure if our garlic is milder than the one found at your side :)

One good thing about fried rice is, you could actually mix & match according to taste
You can add vegatables and/or meat as you like
Fried rice is a good way when you have leftover rice from the night before and don't want to cook a separate main dish XD
I think a search fried rice would also turn up many ways to vary this dish ^__^

We have a few different kinds of garlic. Usually the bigger the head, the milder, so I could always use a milder kind.

I love fried rice, and need to make it more. It's a good way to use cheap cuts of meat too.

*nods* I've been saving all my carcasses / bones to make stock with. I usually add onion and carrot heels (the root end you don't cut up), and a bay leaf while I'm cooking to add flavor.

Cabbage, mushroom and pork sounds like a very tasty combination. Thank you! ^__^ (I just saw some dried salted shrimps at the grocery store believe it or not XD)
