The Passion of the Christ, i gotta speak up

i too put on my shoes and headed out the door to the theater this weekend and joined the millions of people who have seen The Passion.

please do not take this as "oh just an angry bible thumper" or anything like that just as me voicing or typing my opinion:)

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but i would like to say that i think some people are missing the point of the movie.

yes it is a film and yes it did go to the big screen.
this film wasn't made just to make a film though. its purpose was greater than that. it was to spread the message of the savior, Lord Jesus, dying on the cross for our sins or even to remind those who may have forgotten or fallen away and to show that after the horrible death he was risen(hallelujah!)from the dead. he paid it all because he loves us. it was made to show us that he is the life, the truth and the way and that no one comes to the Father with out him.

analyzing it solely as a film. ok lets do that shall we.

as far as composition goes it was very well put together. the editing flowed nicely with the story and the music helped create a powerful effect. there were many shots that kept the audience's interest. and the acting was believable and phenomenal.
they used the camera brilliantly in this picture. at times, the camera acted in the POV of Jesus to make us feel what he was experiencing and to see the world through his eyes. and this effect was not over used either but applied in the right places to stir up the emotions. every element was clear and concise. mel knew exactly what he was doing and he should because HE has been in the industry a long time. but not only that he has worn many hats in different productions and thats what makes his directing great in this piece.

now nothing is perfect. i'm not trying to say that there isn't one single problem in this movie. but there are problems in EVERY film, audience knowing about it or not. however, i would not say that it sucked or was awful because i have seen movies that suck...bad and this one is much better in comparison with them and in my opinion to some of the "great" films too. apparently to some other critics as well.
and i don't know of any other film where people are walking out of the movie theater after wards having it completely change their lives. so they must be doing somethin right.
please do not rob people of experiencing this for themselves by telling them that its bad and a waste of their time etc..

and the reason it is getting so much press is because the subject matter is a very controversial issue in this world-sad but true. There has never been one name that has stirred up so much commotion than that of Jesus Christ.

the press also said they are covering it because it appears anti semitic but i did not see that at all when i watched the film. supposedly it "blames the jews" for Jesus's death. well guess what...we're all to blame.

to sum up...too late:), i think that this film is not just a movie its an experience. a very intense, powerful and artistic experience. i recommend it to everyone. it is something everyone should see at one point or another.

Isaiah 53:5-6
~He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, upon him punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed...
And like sheep we have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way and the Lord has laid on him(Jesus) the iniquity of us all.
