I need your prayers and good thoughts!

Please everybody, I need your prayers and good thoughts - My cousin Sessums was in a horrible car wreck a week and a half ago and isn't doing very well - he has severe head trauma as well as multiple broken bones - he needs all the help he can get from anywhere! I'm posting his story behind a cut - please read it and remember him in your prayers; spread the word, I need him to get better!

Sessums is the 16 year old son of Billy and Sheila Russell of Lexington, MS. His grandparents are Max and Gayle Sessums of Union, MS and Sonny and Betty Russell, also of Lexington.

He loves Ole Miss, hunting and sports. As taken from his site on Facebook, some of his favorite quotes are:

"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen. ".......michael jordan

"Don't ever give up on something you cannot go a day without thinking about."

Sessums and his good pal, Jay Murtagh, were critically injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. on August 4, 2007. The accident occurred near Antioch Church just outside of the city limits of Lexington when Russell's vehicle lost control in a very sharp curve, flipping FIVE times before landing down a twenty-five foot slanted embankment. Russell was taken to the local hospital in Lexington before being airlifted to The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he remains today. Injuries included severe trauma to the head and lungs, as well as a broken collar bone, three broken bones in his left hand, and a cut on his forehead. Russell remains in a medicated coma with a ventilator in place to help him breathe. A shunt in his brain, as well as tubes in his lungs, have been placed in order to reduce pressure and complications stemming from his injuries. According to Russell's aunt, Mandy Feasel of Union, much prayer is needed and asked of everyone as he continues to slowly improve. "He still remains in critical condition and we all are taking this on a minute-by-minute basis, watching God work every single second." Family members and friends have been overwhelmingly supportive during this difficult time and the Russell family greatly appreciates everything.

Murtagh was released from the local hospital the following morning with minor injuries.
Both Russell and Murtagh were wearing seatbelts.

Thanks everybody! Hugs and kisses...

home, pray, sessums
