I had the German exam today and since we have to leave everything (except our clothes, picnic lunches, pencils and erasers) outside the classroom, I whined and begged until my brother relented and promised to let me use his school locker. He threw me his key ring before finishing his breakfast and hurrying to school to learn new fascinating things. I took the locker key from the key ring and left the rest of the keys on the kitchen table... after my brother had left for school.
When he came home around 1 o'clock and stood in front of the locked fron door, he noticed that his keys were missing. Well, he thought that okay, no prob, sis will be home soon, she's really good at German, right? It shouldn't her take long to finish the exam...
In the school at the same time, I was staring at my finished essay and decided to rewrite it from scratch, since I was in no hurry... When I two hours later dragged myself home, my brother informed me that he had had to call Dad from work to let him in. Surprisingly, he didn't seem angry (Dad was angry enough for him, though >.<), which was nice of him considering that I didn't know that he had labeled his home key as "the key of the bike". That's why I didn't ask him whether he needed it back in the morning...
About the exam: it was so easy I'm still having this perplexed "I just can't be this lucky" look in my eyes. The reading comprehension wasn't simply piece of cake, it was more like the whole damn cake and the candles on it, too. The grammar part was short and of the usual difficulty, no surprises there. The open questions had to be answered in Finnish which made them a lot easier. The last, iffy ten step grammar tango question series had been left out and in their place were simple translate-these-five-sentences-please exercises. They weren't even that difficult... The essay subjects were, if not easy, then at least not unexpected.
Not to say I won't have anything wrong, because I will. I will have one third of the exam incorrectly answered, but it could have been worse.
Especially since I have been sick the past week and could barely study for the exam.
