(no subject)
You know, back in January I was terribly, terribly nervous about having roommates I didn't know very well, and honestly for ages every time Ashley showed up I was a bit of a nervous wreck until she was gone again. Especially since this is her house.
But this past week has been really awesome. There's someone else around during times when I'm normally home alone, and I've actually had somebody around who will share a social drink with me, since Michael doesn't drink more than about once a year. Yesterday I got home and collapsed into a chair and Ashley announced that she'd found a copy of Labyrinth at Superstore, $9.99 and two for one! And you can never find Labyrinth for sale anywhere! And she said that she bought it not only because she needed a copy, but she thought of me and intended that we have a movie night together and watch it!
(Actually, she said she did already have a copy, but she bought it in London, and that was how she discovered DVD regions.)
But. I don't know why I find that so touching, that she would see a random movie for sale very cheaply at a grocery store and decide we needed to watch it together. Bonus points for the fact that it's a movie I like and she really had no way of knowing that.
So this time, I actually am going to be sorry to see her go, and I'm going to be looking forward to her next trip home.
