Wow. The one time I really wanted to post something on my journal and LJ goes belly-up.... Interesting. :-)
I've been lazing about all week because I'm on vacation! And still one week of vacation to go. Hurray. Went to Bonn on Wednesday to meet a couple of friends. We actually sat outside the whole evening because it had been a really warm day. It felt more like early summer than spring. Didn't last long though because on Thursday it was grey and wet and wet and grey. Did I mention it was grey and wet? *gr*
I continue on my path to single handedly save the German economy from recession - I bought a new laptop on Thursday because my old one died on me. Monitor went black, a buzzing noise and when the thing rebooted only one message: can't access hard drive.... Oh well. It served me well for over seven years and since I had been browsing/looking for a new laptop for quite some time now I just went out and bought a new one. *gr*
And let me tell you: It is fast, it is shiny and it is big. 0_0 Wow. And now I'm in the process of fine-tuning the thing... You only realizes just how many programs you had installed when you go on autopilot to do something and than realize that you have to re-install the program...
On Wednesday I also had an anniversary, well sort of: a year ago I started my new job. And after a year I can say I'm still loving it. I have a great boss, my colleagues are nice and the work is still very interesting and I'm learning something new every single day. So everything is good on the work-front. In the next four weeks or so our department will be moving. Oh joy. The good thing is: after the move I'll have a much shorter way to the office. Only fifteen minutes from door to door. It has been ages since I lived that close to work. I'm definitely looking forward to that.
And I just knew that the studio/distributors would continue to fuck with the release of Viggo's "The Road". It was supposed to be released in Germany on May 13. Yes - supposed. The new release date is October 7. For movie theatres that is. At this point I highly doubt that this movie will ever grace a screen over here. It will be released on bluray on May 17 in the UK and I have already pre-ordered it. (Bought a bluray player recently in my attempt to save German economy... *gr*) If I have to eat my words and The Road actually finds its way into German theatres I'll still be the first in line to buy a ticket, though.
