ready to go home

Well, my work day has gone pretty well. Got some good work done, got a new task assigned to me that looks quick, fairly interesting and not too difficult.

Now I want to go home, but I'm stuck here for another 45 minutes if I want to get a full day in, which I do, because working on the weekend SUCKS. :( Frankly, I think we'd all do better and be happier if work was designed differently. Instead of making us work 8 hours in a day, we should be assigned approximately 8 hours worth of work when we get in every morning, and be allowed to go home whenever it was finished. This would 1) encourage people to work harder and be more efficient and 2) get rid of incompetent people faster, because they'd get tired of 15 hour days.

Of course, once I get home, I have to start cleaning the house (the cleaning people come tomorrow, and we have to clean BEFORE they come, which is weird) and pay some bills (always fun). Hopefully there will be a check in the mail for the 3 smooth dresses I just sold. I hope. Please.

I have to decide if I want to tape American Idol tonight. I'm kind of off of it since LaToya is gone. If Jasmine doesn't get voted off this week, I'll probably throw a fit, so maybe it would be better if I just didn't see it anymore. :)

Then I get to go to dance class, though, which I am very much looking forward to. I have a Waltz group class and then a private lesson. Yay! I haven't had a private lesson since Tuesday (gasp!) and haven't even been to the studio since Thursday. With just 2 1/2 weeks left until Showcase and exactly 2 months until Costa Mesa, one lesson a week isn't going to cut it. :) I should probably make a payment toward the Costa Mesa trip tonight, too . . . . I need to start looking for plane tickets, too.

Then, after dance class, it's home again to finish cleaning and put about 100 more stones on the latin dress I'm making for my mom. I put 600 on it last night, and it probably needs nearly 600 more, but I have to make sure it's dry by morning so I can put it away, out of reach of the cleaning people, lest they think it's a good idea to vacuum it up or step on it or something. So, I'll stick to 100 for tonight. I really am ready to be done with this one. It's starting to look really good, but ss16 stones give me a headache (I'm so glad I decided NOT to put ss12 stones on this one).

I also should probably call my brother about my other brother's birthday gift. I have no idea what to look for in a golf bag, so I need to solicit some advice from him.

So much to do . . . so much sleep yet to catch up on . . .
