I'm now in the middle of my third week working 9-6. I actually like working this shift, though I feel it will soon be the death of me. I have been so tired lately, because I can't manage to get more than about 4-6 hours of sleep each night. Last week I actually walked out of the house and forgot my cell phone at home two days in a row. I never forget my phone! Ugh. I taped a note to my door yesterday so I made sure to remember the phone today, haha. Actually, if I would just drag myself out of bed early I wouldn't have to run around in circles and out the door and forget things. But I don't see that happening anytime soon, until I can get myself to go to bed earlier. oh and this morning, I slept through my alarm for 50 minutes. A new record for me.
Usually it is freezing cold at work. Sometimes it's so cold my fingers hurt (it's hard to cover them when you have to type all day). Everyone bundles up and complains all day long. Well on Saturday the a/c was off on our side of the building, and it was miserable, and everyone was still complaining, this time about how hot it was. I was tired enough as it is, and the heat just made me want to fall asleep even more. Luckily I have a little fan on my desk so that helped me some. It was really slow in the morning so between calls I put my head down on my desk right in front of the fan. I'd never been so glad to go downstairs to the cafeteria where it was a little cooler. Kris said it was cooler outside in the shade than it was upstairs! Now that's pretty bad. Yesterday it wasn't much better, but by the end of the day it had cooled down enough to make it bearable. Today it was back to the usual freezing temperature and everyone was still complaining. Hey, I'd much rather have it cold than hot any day.
Tomorrow is my day off, and I'm going to lunch with my cousin Heath who is in town from Texas. He's here for a week of training for his job. We went out to dinner last week... he asked for some good seafood, so I took him to High Tide Harry's on 50 and Semoran. If you've never been there, it's a great place. He lives in the middle of nowhere, so the endless choice of restaurants here in Orlando is quite a treat for him. Tomorrow I'm taking him to Smokey Bones, which I'm sure he'll like as well.
I think the best thing about my new shift is leaving work in time to see some real pretty sunsets. Well, i'm about an hour before actual sunset, and it's been cloudy almost every day lately, but the clouds look pretty cool, lol. Since I don't usually have my regular camera with me most of the time, I'm glad I have a decent camera on my cell phone.
Here's a shot from a few days ago.
That's about it for now. I'm so tired my eyes are watering. Time for bed.
