So I have this entire week off from work, and decided I wanted to do more than just sit around my apartment all week. So I took a trip to Gainesville to visit my best friend Nick for a few days. The last time I saw him was
exactly 2 years ago, so it was great to spend some time with him. I went up there Monday afternoon... the drive up there was great, with hardly any traffic, so I made great time. I got to meet his roommate (and his roommate's HOT friends) then we hung out with his friend Chris for a few hours, who I'd met the last time I went there. We went to bed pretty late, then he got up early for work and I slept in a while longer.
After he got out of work we went to Pita Pit for lunch. I never knew there was more than one until yesterday... they even have a Smoothie Pit and a Beer Pit too! I didn't visit those though. His roommate invited us to go to the movies, but we decided to go out and do something instead. He mentioned that they had a bowling alley in their student union (how cool is that?!) so we picked up his boyfriend and went over to the UF campus.
While we were standing outside waiting for the boys to finish smoking so we could go in, I caught a glimpse of a girl walking around the corner that looked familiar to me, but I was like nah, it can't be. Then the girl walks back around the corner and we look at each other for a second, then both of us at the same time said "It IS you!!" haha. I couldn't believe it was Olivia Boone. We've known each other since first grade, but haven't seen each other since we graduated high school. The crazy thing is neither one of us go to UF but we just happened to be on campus at the same time! We only got to talk for a few minutes, but it was just so cool to see her after so long.
Anyway, we bowled two games... I got 113 and 109, winning both times. After that we played a few very long games of pool, and headed back to Nick's apartment to watch a movie. We ended up seeing Waking Ned Devine, which I didn't think I was really going to like. It moved kinda slow in the beginning, but it picked up in the middle and by the time it was over, I enjoyed it. I especially liked the ending :)
We went to bed even later last night, and ended up waking up later than we wanted to in the morning. I took him to work then headed back to Orlando. Did a few errands around town, went grocery shopping, then just relaxed on the couch for the rest of the evening. Since I didn't sleep much the past few days I'll probably head to bed soon.
Random thought for the day... Why do I always try to honk my horn even though I know it doesn't work anymore? Seriously.
and finally...
R.I.P.
pato. Pat was a great guy, and
he will be missed.
