weekend in review

Looong weekend, but enjoyable. Got up early Friday morning, drove home, brought dad lunch to work, got my hair cut, went shopping with dad, had dinner with parents.

Got up early Saturday, and dad and I were off to the track. Set up our ghetto tent canopy thingie, shopped at the merch trailers, then went to the stands (after visiting 5 pretzel stands to find pretzels!). Watched both qualifying rounds, then the race. There was a hilarious drunk guy a few rows in front of us that kept us entertained most of the evening. The race itself was pretty exciting, and my mom's favorite driver won, so that was cool. After it was over, we went back to the truck to grill up some hot dogs and we sat around talking and eating while everyone else left. By the time we left, there was no traffic at all, which was great.

Sunday I slept in (well, til 10am, which is sleeping in around there), then mom and I went shopping. They have a BJ's membership so we spent over an hour wandering around the store. Went home and I took a two-hour nap! Watched the race on tv and had our Thanksgiving dinner since we all have to work next weekend and won't be together. A for-real honey-baked ham (since dad can't have turkey), mashed potatos, green bean casserole, and apple pie, yummm. Went to bed pretty late...

...and got up about 6:30 this morning. Packed up the truck, dad and I had our usual breakfast at Tony's, and I hit the road. Lots of traffic and lots of semis passing each other, which slowed things down considerably. Then there was a big accident on the Turnpike so I had to go to 95 in West Palm and deal with all the crappy traffic there. It took me nearly 5 hours to get back to Orlando, when it usually takes me just under 4. I also nearly got sideswiped by a dump truck, watched someone else get run off the road by a big pick-up, and ran over a steel pipe. It was a very stressful drive, but I made it. Scarfed down lunch and went to the mailroom for a few hours. Keith called and wanted to see Harry Potter, and I still had the free movie tickets I won back in December (sheesh) so we headed out to Universal to see the movie. Stopped at Starbucks beforehand cause it was pretty chilly outside... peppermint hot choclate, yum! The movie was really good, I thought. Back home now... just ate dinner, and I'm dead tired, so I'm gonna pass out now. 'night.

P.S. - I love this cold weather! :)
