IT'S CHRISTMAS, BITCH (or: shut up and eat da fruitcake)
Hey guys~
So, I'm using this as an announcement of sorts - sometime soon (probably today, or tomorrow at the latest), i am going to be changing my username from sundayschild to "sundayschild", or some variation thereupon, depending on the availability of said name.
I have a lot of reasons behind this, all of which would take an...extremely long time to list, haha, but I've thought this through (wow, I love how I make this sound like I'm quitting LJ, or like, having my hand amputated or something) and decided it was the best solution.
I first chose this username, or at least started using it regularly, in sixth grade. I don't know if any of you guys remember Runescape, but ~back in the day~ (or, more accurately, back at my old private Christian school), all of the cool kids has one (an account, that is). Well, for whatever reason (and I know it/them, but it's embarrassing, so I reserve the right to keep that one to myself), I decided that making my username "faerie_vixen" would be a good idea.
From then on out, that was my username EVERYWHERE - nowhere was safe from my glitter-tastic glee, from Neopets (oh yeah, I was ~cool~) to the most banal username-requiring site to ever exist (for example: Photobucket).
Needless to say, now!me is NOT PLEASED with then!me's decision-making abilities (or anything else, for that matter).
As cheesy as it sounds, the stigma of having a fairy-related username has followed me around for years, only compounded by the fact that the second part of it is ridiculously self-absorbed and cliche (though I will admit that that was not my intention at the time). I was only ~saved~ from COMPLETE AND TOTAL HUMILIATION by the ~quirky~ spelling of the first part of said username (IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. CAN YOU IMAGINE IF I WAS - LE GASP - FAIRY_VIXEN??? /sarcasm), and as I am not fond of teetering on the edge of COMPLETE AND TOTAL HUMILIATION, or being a parody of myself (or of anyone else, for that matter), I have decided to take matters into my own hands (though who's hands I would take them into otherwise, I have no idea)~
In other news, in case you've been hiding under a rock for the past...day or so, IT IS FREAKING DECEMBER, YO~
"How is this relevant to me?", you ask? Well, in many ways - for one thing, December means Christmas, and as we all know, Christmas is the season of overeating, spending time with relatives you don't like and would actually quite like to strangle if they TOUCH YOU ONE MORE TIME, SERIOUSLY UNCLE JACOB, NOT COOL, and spending a lot of money (that you most likely don't have) on gifts that will probably be thrown away the moment you leave the room/house, or are not within a six mile radius of said gift.
I FREAKING LOVE CHRISTMAS.
(That's a lie, btw. I kind of hate it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that to be a grinch or anything - I love giving people presents, and I enjoy receiving them, and hanging out with friends is always awesome, which makes Christmas awesome, but. My history with the holiday has not been the best, so forgive me if I'm a little cynical~)
Anyways, on that note, this is the official "TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS SO I CAN SPEND THE NEXT 22 DAYS (GIVE OR TAKE A FEW) FLAILING AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE/WRITE IT"...post.
So yeah. :D Have at it~
PS: I am bored, and I have a camera with an actual working memory card now (!!!), and I want to make a blog, so. ASK ME QUESTIONS! :D (...again)
