Uuuuuuuugh. What a day.
Yesterday I got called in for the afternoon in Gr.5 at a school I've never been at before, which is right around the corner from my house. I love getting contacts at new schools, but holy crap. This class is CRAAAAAZY. I got there yesterday at lunch and everybody I ran into warned me about the class. Although I have to say, I've had worse. I was in there again today. With no lesson plan. Boy, does that ever piss me off. What does a teacher expect you to do if she leaves you no plan? According to the other teachers I spoke to, this one doesn't give a shit and lets the kids go wild. Which makes it super fun for a substitute! But in the past few months I've had so many tough classes that I'm a total hard-ass now! I take no shit!
It still sucks to have to scream and bawl all day, though. I can hardly recall what it feels like to actually "teach", rather than just "manage" a class all day. I guess that's what we can look forward to for when we get a class of our own - I hope.
Anyway. Work is work. TWO MORE WEEKS!!!!!!! Then it's summer! THANK GOD!!!
