First Days
Phyllis and I shared our first day of work together. We met at the Starlight cafe, formerly the Chat N Chew. Phyllis works in Old Hickory, one of the most expensive restaurants at this quite expensive hotel, and I am a banquet server. Phyllis used to be a companion for a blind child. She really loved the boy, but lost the job. I used to work for a greeting card company, I cried to and from work some days, so I quit. I also met a guy whose voice is exactly like someone I know, but I can't remember who that is yet, I just remember really liking the person. So now I really like Robert. At this job, English is not the primary language. I haven't figured out what is yet, but I know it is either Arabic or Spanish. Since I took Spanish in highschool, I'm thinking about brushing up. Since that is incredibly difficult, we'll see if I actually do. I also think I will start riding my bike to the bookstore to read. I always feel very awkward bringing a book into a bookstore, but everyone assures me it's fine.
