I may or may not be guilty of reading other things at church. I don't think it's such a crime, especially if the sermon isn't really hitting you where you're at.

Are you a vegetarian by chance? Because I have a friend, from church a matter of fact, who loves humus and she's a vegetarian. I tried a bite once and didn't care much for it but maybe I should give it another chance.
Loved your church story, and it's an interesting topic of if we go to church to really worship God or to see our friends. Or people we want to be our friends, I can relate to that.
