I think looking someone in the face while they are singing to you is one of the most awkward experiences possible. Seconded by standing within 1 foot of a person singing to you. Actually, I think it's people singing to you that is just unnatural and awkward. Because what do you do while they look at you and sing. What if the song is long, what if you don't like the song. what if you don't like the person. what if they hit a note wrong. what if the words are cheesy or crass or dumb. there's so many horrible things about being made to give an instant reaction to a remarkably personal and frankly intrusive experience that you may or may not like. Why are they singing to you anyway.
In the past, this was not an issue. But in the last week, I have been sung to twice, and I really do not know what to do.
