I've got a story I'd love to see written:
From Balance of Terror (TOS, first year) -- "In a different reality, I could have called you friend." (Romulan commander to Captain Kirk)
That line just vibrates with potential (and it always has.) Given that we now have a different reality in canon, it would be fabulous to read of young Jim Kirk (reboot Trek) joining forces with the unnamed Romulan commander (who may not yet be a commander, but a lesser officer, or even something else) to stop some kind of misguided war in the aftermath of Nero's path of destruction.
I, unfortunately, don't have time to go there. Would be nice if someone else did....
