My brain is hooked on fandom
So I adore Grey's Anatomy. And ever since that new doctor, Owen Hunt played by Kevin McKidd came on, he's reminded me of Nine. And I can't help but love him because of it. My mom (we watch the show and then call each other to compare opinions :P) didn't like him for the longest time and still doesn't really like him, just sort of...tolerates him. And literally, when the whole arc with Christina started, my first thought was 'But Christina's no Rose!'.
This last episode just solidified it for me. Hunt's mercurial mood swings, his whole I'll be flirty when I want to be but don't get in my way when I don't want to be attitude reminded me SO MUCH of Nine. And when Christina calls him on it, I immediately told my mom that she wasn't Rose, and my mom just sort of looked at me funny. :P So then I had to explain my train of thought, but it's totally not crazy! He's this war-torn man, obviously suffering from PTSD, who just wants to get on living his life as best as he can. And then this woman comes into his life and she makes him feel again and that scares him so he pushes her away and holds her close at the same time. NINTH DOCTOR. But alas, Christina is no Rose and I don't know if she'll have the strength to fix him...when she needs some serious fixing herself.
