Pssst, Cesare, your sociopath is showing...

You know it’s love when he….

….delivers you the knife he used to brutally murder your abusive ex-husband with.

And that’s only because he couldn’t find his heart to tear out and give to her like he originally promised to do.

Oh jeez, Cesare, you do know that you’re sister does not actually want you to be a crazed psychopath, right? So why on earth did you think this was a good idea?

Yeah, Lucrezia and Cesare are fucked up on so many levels when they make manage to make evisceration a gesture of endearment.

Also, I think it’s safe to say that Cesare is, if not full on crazy, then at least getting there. Because in what parallel universe is it ever ok to give your sister a murder weapon as a gift?

Honestly, I don’t think Cesare killed Sforza just because of what he did to Lucrezia. It was also “I’m pissed and you’re here. Also, you’re a douche. STAB STAB STAB. Oh yeah, I promised my baby sister your heart on a plate. DIG DIG DIG, man where is that heart, all I'm gettin is kidney. Damn, I wish Micheletto was here with fake doctor skillz.”

But I did love his escape scene. It was just him running and pushing a castle full of guards out of the way, being totally Batman about it but even more so because he did it in broad daylight and without any sort of plan whatsoever. Yeah, Caterina and Giovanni really did not reckon on how psycho Cesare really was- he's actually managed to weaponize his sociopathy/ bipolar disorder. Calm, composed- then BOOM, KNIFE TO THE JUGULAR!!!

Also still hoping that Lucrezia and Cesare do end up going “there”. Because it would be a shame for two people who look so good together and have that much UST to just let it go to waste, morality and ickiness be damned. Just one kiss that has tongue or Cesare declaring that he does have non-sibling-y feelings for her or a wet dream or SOMETHING. I just cannot bring myself to believe that nothing will ever happen between these two.

Also, my theory for Juan’s ultimate fate? Since it has already been established that Lucrezia and Juan are on the outs and that Cesare has a grudge against Juan for being an all around dick and that Cesare is obsessed with keeping Lucrezia safe. My guess is that Juan will end up being a direct threat to Lucrezia prompting Cesare to go on the offensive to keep Lucrezia safe because of course, when it comes down to Hot Sibling You are Borderline In Love With and Other Sibling Who is a Huge Douchebag, Lucrezia>>>>>Juan.

And then after having committed murder for her sake, Cesare is going to get even crazier than he already is and become even more emotionally fixated on Lucrezia because he’s always going to associate her with the reason his soul is utterly damned and his moral logic is going to go tits up, like “hey, I’m going to hell for you, the least you could do is love me more than you will ever love anyone else” and the two of them will be bound in a twisted, co-dependent relationship revolving around guilt and secrets and the shared belief that they are both monsters. Then Alfonso comes into the picture and Lucrezia entertains the idea that she could be free of her dysfunctional bond with her brother and Cesare’s all “oh no, you don’t, the siblings that commit fratricide together, stay together” and Alfonso goes kaput. Lucrezia goes into a guilt ridden stupor but ultimately forgives Cesare because he has the “I killed our brother AND YOUR FIRST HUSBAND for you and damned my soul” card.

And Lucrezia goes: "Ah, you got me there, peace out, nuns."

In conclusion: new episode of The Borgias tomorrow! Praise be!
