I think I'm in love.
The creators of the HBO miniseries Generation Kill would have you believe that the Marine Corps is made up of rugged, doe eyed pretty boys although if you were to enlist, I'm pretty sure you would be sorely disappointed for the most part.
Lt. Fick, the awesome company commander and one of the few officers portrayed in the series as having common sense.
Here he is trying to keep dim witted officer from calling in an artillery strike that would most likely end up bombing the rest of the platoon.
He shares a close, trusting bond with Sgt. Brad "Iceman" Colbert
"Sir, you're leadership is the only thing I have absolute confidence in." Its just esprit de corp. Really.
Sgt. Colbert, who is cool and competent with a dry sense of humor that arises at random times is so much fun when held in contrast with the rest of serious demeanor and who I am sort of in love with but from the above pic is obviously taken.
Lance Cpl Trombley who is awkward, sort 'new guy in school'-ish- and who is also something of a trigger happy sociopath. Also, he really hates dogs as indicated by him constantly asking if he could shoot one.
This is just an awesome cap.
"I didn't mean to shoot innocent camels, ok? I'm sure I shot people." LOL. War and carnage provides the very best of black humor.
"Damn, sucka! I just got some! Look at me, Brad, I'm a man now, just like you. Except...I don't look like a f****t and talk all educated." Corporal Person, the driver who is almost always tweaked out on Ripped Fuel pills and spewing inappropriate, slightly unhinged commentary.
"You know, it doesn't make you gay if you think Rudy's hot. We all think he's hot. Jesus, you're beautiful." Sgt. Rudy Reyes, the best looking guy in the company (to which I say, Hello? Sgt. Colbert is RIGHT THERE all hot and hetero.) Fun factoid: the guy playing Rudy Reyes is the actual Rudy Reyes who served in First Recon.
Stafford, who I don't know much about except that he's vaguely cute, talks like Eminem and has a habit of saying "Screwby."
And lastly, Edward Cullen's less emo brother
There's a crapload of characters who are nearly impossible to keep track of and a bunch of military jargon but its a great series. And the trippy thing? It all actually happened! You can't get anymore ninja than that.
